​We’re looking for a calm, ​indoor only loving home for our majestic 9‐year​ old cat

With very heavy hearts, ​we need​ to find a peaceful forever home for our beautiful girl. She has been​ part of our family for 9 years, and we want to make sure she finds
someone who will cherish her just as much.
About her
9 years old, desexed​, microchipped​ and vaccinated
Domestic Long hai​red with an​ incredible fluffy coat and tail
Loves: gentle chin and head rubs, sunny spots, and a bit of
fashion, she proudly wears her little outfits and looks absolutely regal
Dislikes: being picked up too much, loud chaos, and busy
environments
Personality: calm, independent, affectionate on her own terms,
dignified — a true queen
Ideal home: adults or older kids; she’ll thrive in a quiet home without toddlers, she grew up with my daughter.
She’s mostly an indoor cat who enjoys peaceful routines and soft
places to nap. She currently lives with another cat, but she definitely prefers being the only cat in the house where she can fully relax and reign in peace.

We’re happy to share her vet history, food preferences, routines, and
anything else you’d like to know. Our only wish is to find someone
who will give her the same love and comfort she’s had all these
years.

Meet Madame Foxy

Foxy is a lovely, calm 10-year-old girl who recently came into our care after her owner sadly passed away.

She can be a little unsure when you first meet her, but give her a little time and she soon settles in. Once she’s comfortable, Foxy is a gorgeous, affectionate girl who loves to purr, she loves attention and a good head scratch.

At 10 years old, Foxy would love a quiet, loving home where she can relax, feel safe and enjoy plenty of affection.

MEET CHASE — PROFESSIONAL HEART-STEALER & PART-TIME GARDEN INSPECTOR 

Allow us to introduce Chase, a handsome 5-year-old gentleman who has recently found himself looking for a new forever home due to his owner passing away.

Chase is a friendly fellow who absolutely LOVES attention. Give him a fuss and he’ll happily soak it up… but don’t worry, he’s not clingy , he’s also quite the independent explorer and enjoys doing his own thing. 

He’s previously lived with another cat, so he knows a thing or two about sharing his kingdom. Dogs, however? He’s never met one, and frankly, he’s not sure he’s ready to add that level of chaos to his life. So Chase would prefer a dog-free home please.

What he would love is a nice big garden where he can stretch his legs, investigate important garden business, supervise the neighbourhood and generally live his best cat life.

Buggy’s big day out!

Last week Buggy headed along to check out the Cuba St, Petone and Upper Hutt Op Shops! He throughly enjoyed having a good sniff around and meeting some of the HUHA community who were shopping in the stores 😄

🙌Duck Run alert! 🦆🦆🦆
This Friday our rural team will be heading to Wellington, Palmerston North, Manawatu and the Wairarapa to rehome some of the Muscovy ducks in our care!

If you live anywhere along the way between Wellington, Palmerston North, Manawatu and the Wairarapa our rural team will be heading by you on the duck run!

To adopt, you’ll need a rural or lifestyle property with a fun water source and a safe, grassy area where they can roam.

These ducks are being rehomed as pets only. They are not available for eating, breeding, or resale.

And they will take you though the approval process 🫶

Are you looking for a great restaurant to try this weekend?

The team at Macha, Jom Tapau are hosting a Malaysia style vegan buffet this Sunday and will be donating some of the proceeds to HUHA!

Head along for some tasty food knowing that every meal helps makes a difference for the animals in our care🧡

Muthu had been busy putting together a delicious line-up of vegan dishes for this Sunday's event, Malaysian Style Vegan Buffet, and now can't wait to share it with you! 😋

This special buffet is being organised in conjunction with my birthday 🥰 and what makes it even more meaningful is that 10% of the sales from the event goes to HUHA and Ellie’s Canine Rescue & Rehome 🐶🐱❤️

❤️ One serving per person, no sharing, no wastage, please
❤️ 11.30am – 8pm, or until sold out

And yes, our furry friends are invited too! 😃
I'll be making homemade dog treats especially for the day, and there will be treats available for both dogs and cats to enjoy while their humans tuck into the feast 🥰

We'll also be having donation boxes for both rescue groups if you'd like to give a little extra. Every small contribution can make a huge difference 💚
