Meet ACE - 3-year-old Ngāti c**t, bred on the hills in Ruatoria, too good to cut. Ace has been well started with a solid foundation, a very talented jumper and good to be around, he has no dirt or bad habits. Ace is good to shoe, float, truck and ride, he can be paddocked behind electric tape, by himself or with other geldings, he can be ridden bare back and just in a halter. Good to lead off the quad or by another horse and he has had a variety of horses lead off him including mares. He has had lots of different stimuli with beach, bush, river and farm riding, good with traffic, nice and soft and responsive. Ace knows all his groundwork and is respectful of your space on the ground. This pony has been in and out of work for about 8 mouths and is a great allrounder. Ace has no scars and no injuries, a very sound pony, perfect for someone with experience and he's ready for new adventures. Pm me for further information - Genuine enquiries only please, no time wasters.

With the arrival of summer, Christmas just around the corner and the sun shining, life is good - hope you have all been well, and have had a healthy, successful and prosperous 2025.
Hannah and I have been good, and have been enjoying some well-earned R&R, quality family time and a chance to do some work at home on the farm and on our own horses.
Here are a few horses/ponies (all female) of various ages and stages that are ready for a new home and their next adventure.
Please private message me if you are genuinely interested.

We had a fantastic morning with the Papamoa Pony club.
Thank you for your time, you were all such a pleasure to work with.
To achieve the best result for yourself and your horse, just life in general you have to be consistent.
Do what it takes - get up, show up, give your best and be willing to work hard.

2025 - bring it on! I just love working with horses and it's great to be home surrounded by family, they are always there to lend a hand. I've just been mixing it up and loving it, it's nice to give time to my family as well as the horses. Thankyou Melissa and Guy for your many years of support, and for your trust in our work, it's always a pleasure working with you. We hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays and has had quality time with family and friends. Enjoy the clips, learn from them and keep the horses coming.

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas, I hope everyone has a great time with family and friends over the festive season, thank you to all who have supported our horsemanship.

I've encountered some challenges with this last lot of horses, a very dangerous habit was pulling back - please stop tying your horses up with bailing twine, it's the easiest way to encourage a horse to pull back. Every time the horse breaks the twine it gives them the confidence to do it again, go back to the ground and teach them to come forward off the pressure, prepare them properly then hard tie them, it will save both your life and the horses.

Rearing - rearing is either destination addiction, herd bound, pulling on the mouth whilst asking the horse to move forward with your legs, (a confusion of cues) or pain related (back, teeth, joints and gut) Redirect the horses' feet, wherever the horse is wanting to go (barn, stable, paddock with friends) work the horse at that place. Ride out 100 meters, go back to the barn and work your horse - circles, figure eights, roll backs, then off you go again, repeat until you get a change.

Be safe on the roads everyone.
