Auckland Puppy Rescue We rescue puppies, foster them with caring families, then adopt them to great new homes. Want to adopt a puppy? Want to foster a puppy?

We'd love to hear from you! We are a registered charitable trust - CC50834 We help unwanted puppies, keeping them safe and warm by placing them into responsible, loving foster homes. We provide them with the training and care they deserve before we find them great new homes. We support de-sexing to avoid bringing more unwanted pups into the world. Unwanted puppies are often taken away from mum too early, and sold or given away with no concern as to where they end up. Unfortunately, in many cases those puppies end up either dumped, abused or life-chained - and often when those pups end up in the wrong hands the cycle of unwanted litters begins again. We need your help to stop the cycle to help give all puppies the best start in life.

🐾🐶 AUCKLAND PUPPY RESCUE ADOPTION DAY - TOMORROW!

Looking for a new best friend? 💗 Come along to Animates Vetcare NZ - Grey Lynn tomorrow, Saturday 24th October, from 10am–1pm and meet some of our gorgeous puppies looking for their forever homes! 🏡❤️

Our adorable crew will be there, ready to steal hearts and hopefully meet their future families! Could one of them be the missing piece of your family? 🥰

🍜 Meet the puppies who will be there:

🐾 Parker - Shar Pei/Staffy Cross | Female
A fun-loving, affectionate little adventurer who loves chasing balls, making doggy friends and exploring the world around her! 💕 She’s always up for a play, a new discovery or plenty of cuddles!

🍙 Nori – Staffy/Shar Pei Cross | Male | Japanese Food Litter
Confident, alert and happiest when there's food involved, Nori enjoys playing with children and other dogs. Bonus points if you have bananas!

🍜 Miso – Staffy/Shar Pei Cross | Male | Japanese Food Litter
A confident, playful little adventurer who loves people, making doggy friends and exploring the world around him! 🤎 He’s also a big snuggle bug and a food-loving little character who’s always ready for fun, affection and cuddles!

🌿 Wasabi – Staffy Cross | Male | Japanese Food Litter
A curious, confident little explorer who loves toys, playing tug-of-war and having fun with his litter mates! 🌿 He’s also a total snuggle bunny who loves cuddles, cosy naps by the fire and curling up close to his favourite humans!

🍣 Sushi – Staffy/Shar Pei Cross | Female | Japanese Food Litter
A fun-loving, clever little girl with a big personality and an even bigger appetite! 🐾 She loves toys, wrestling with her litter mates and showing off her smarts, but she’s also a cuddly little sweetheart who enjoys snuggling up for a nap after all the fun!

❤️ COMMUNITY REHOME – MEET BENJI! ❤️

🐾 Meet Benji, a much-loved 5-year-old mixed-breed boy looking for a special home. This is an incredibly difficult decision for his current family, who want to find the right person to give him the love and security he deserves.

Benji is the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation! He loves walks, swimming, playing fetch and spending time with his people, but is equally happy snoozing on the couch or his bed. He's an inside dog, house-trained, desexed, microchipped and registered.

What makes Benji special?
🐶 Loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs in appropriate settings.
🎾 Food-motivated, clever and knows a few tricks.
🏡 Comfortable indoors with free access to the house.
🐴 Happy around horses, cows and alpacas.
❤️ Would love a person who can share adventures and couch cuddles.

🏡 Benji's ideal home - Benji needs to be the only dog in the household following a incident with the other dog in his current home. He would suit someone home for part or most of the day, as he can experience some separation anxiety. A home with older, dog-confident children is recommended.

Benji can be fearful and reactive when unfamiliar people enter his property. He responds best when visitors ignore him initially and he is redirected with treats or a bone. He can pull on lead but responds to treat-based training.

Benji has a high prey drive, so no cats or chickens. Secure fencing is important as he can climb some fences and gates. He has generally good recall, although rabbits can be tempting! He is crate-trained and may benefit from a crate as a safe space, particularly when visitors arrive.

Benji has no known health conditions or allergies, although he can be anxious at the vet. His yearly vaccinations are due and will be arranged by his current owner.

🥭❤️ Little Mango’s journey to feeling safe begins! 🐾🏡

Sweet Mango is settling into her new foster home, and while the world is still a little scary for this little girl, she’s already taking some brave little steps. ❤️

Her foster mum shared that Mango has been feeling nervous in her new surroundings and has spent much of her time tucked away in her crate. With patience, gentle encouragement and a few tasty treats, she slowly found the courage to come out and be carried outside.

And the best part? 🥹 By the evening, Mango was starting to enjoy a few little moments of play out in the yard! 🐾💕

It might not seem like much, but for a puppy who is feeling overwhelmed and unsure, these little steps are huge. With time, patience and lots of love, we hope Mango will continue to grow in confidence and learn that she is safe.

This is why foster families are so incredibly important. ❤️

They provide more than just a roof over a puppy’s head. They offer a safe space, comfort, reassurance and the chance for our rescue animals to decompress, learn to trust and begin to feel secure.

We are so grateful to all our amazing foster families who open their homes and hearts to puppies and rescue animals right across the country. Your kindness, patience and dedication make such a difference, and your love and care never go unnoticed. 🏡🐶

SUNDAY SHOUTOUT: BROOKE & THE TEAM AT PETSTOCK ELLERSLIE! 🐾💙

Some partnerships make a real difference, and our friends at Petstock are a perfect example! 💗

A huge thank you to Brooke and the entire team for hosting Auckland Puppy Rescue’s adoption day last Saturday, for their incredibly kind donation of pet products, and for the ongoing support they continue to show our rescue. 🐶🎁

Being able to hold adoption events at local stores is such an amazing opportunity for us. It gives our puppies the chance to meet potential adopters, make new connections and hopefully find the families who will love them for a lifetime. Every event creates more opportunities for those little tails to find their happily ever after! 🏡❤️

Thank you for welcoming us into your space, supporting our work and helping us give these gorgeous dogs the best possible chance at finding their forever homes.

Meet Tofu! 🍱💗

💗 Female | Staffy/Shar Pei Cross | Japanese Food Litter

Tofu is a confident, playful little girl with a heart full of love and a bouncy personality that’s guaranteed to make you smile! 🐾 She adores meeting new people and dogs, making furry friends and getting involved in whatever fun is happening around her.

And when we say bouncy, we mean it! 😂 One of Tofu’s cutest quirks is her adorable hopping run, which makes even the simplest trip around the yard look like an adventure. She loves chasing balls, playing with stuffed toys and romping around with her four-legged friends.

But underneath all that playful energy is a BIG cuddle bug! 🥹 When the fun is over, Tofu’s favourite place is right beside her people, soaking up all the affection she can get. She’s doing well sleeping in her crate overnight, especially with a little reassurance and cuddles before bedtime.

Tofu has a lovely medium energy level, so she’s always up for a game or an adventure, but she also knows when it’s time to slow down. Once she’s tired herself out, she transforms into the sleepiest little pup, ready to curl up for a well-earned snooze. 🥰 She’s still working on her toilet training and will need a family ready to guide her as she grows.

Tofu is a gorgeous mix of confidence, playfulness and affection, and she’s looking for a family who will enjoy her silly antics, share her adventures and save plenty of space for cuddles. 💗
