Auckland Puppy Rescue We rescue puppies, foster them with caring families, then adopt them to great new homes. Want to adopt a puppy? Want to foster a puppy?

We'd love to hear from you! We are a registered charitable trust - CC50834 We help unwanted puppies, keeping them safe and warm by placing them into responsible, loving foster homes. We provide them with the training and care they deserve before we find them great new homes. We support de-sexing to avoid bringing more unwanted pups into the world. Unwanted puppies are often taken away from mum too

early, and sold or given away with no concern as to where they end up. Unfortunately, in many cases those puppies end up either dumped, abused or life-chained - and often when those pups end up in the wrong hands the cycle of unwanted litters begins again. We need your help to stop the cycle to help give all puppies the best start in life.

🐾❤️ GRIFFINS LITTER UPDATE ❤️🐾

After some incredibly tough days, we’re finally celebrating a few little wins with our precious Griffins babies.

We continue to hold sweet Squiggles 💙🌈 and beautiful Shrewsbury 🍓🌈 close in our hearts. They are deeply loved and dearly missed.

Here’s how the remaining pups are doing:

🧸 Toffee Pop – Our little smosh! He spends most of his days snuggling and sleeping, with a couple of hilarious bursts of play each day. He recently rolled off the couch while snoring and didn’t even wake up! 😂❤️

☁️ Mallowpuff – Our tiny warrior has discovered his appetite and is now finishing all his meals. His foster carer is thrilled with his progress! 💪🐾

🌸 Krispie – Mallowpuff’s bigger sister is doing well, although she’s not entirely impressed by how much food her brother is suddenly eating. 😂💕

🧡 Gingernut – A big win today! He ate some scrambled eggs and showed interest in food for the first time. He’s still sleeping lots, enjoying plenty of cuddles, and continuing to prove the odds wrong. ❤️

☀️ Afghan – Enjoying some afternoon sunshine and doing okay at the moment. We’re celebrating every little step forward. 🌞🐾

These babies are still receiving intensive care, medications, specialist feeding, and endless love from their incredible foster families.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and supported the Griffins litter. Your kindness is helping give these puppies a fighting chance, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing foster carers who have carried these babies through their darkest days. ❤️

🐾💕 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED – Mum & Her Tiny Babies 💕🐾

Our rescue family is urgently looking for a loving foster home for a brave mama dog and her two precious puppies, who are only around 2 weeks old. 🥺💗

This little family has had a tough start and mum is understandably a bit worse for wear. She is currently being treated for mange and needs a safe, warm place where she can focus on what matters most — caring for her babies. The puppies are healthy and thriving, and mum has done an incredible job looking after them despite her own challenges. ❤️

We are looking for a foster home willing to keep this little family together until the puppies are around 8 weeks old and ready for adoption. Once the pups have found their forever homes, we will begin the process of finding a loving home for mum too. 🐶💕

A quiet, caring environment is all they need while they grow stronger and leave their difficult past behind.

💛🐾 Please consider sweet Orville 🐾💛

Orville has grown up in rescue. What started as a frightened little puppy with severe mange and no fur at all has turned into this handsome, goofy, big-hearted teenage boy who is still waiting for someone to choose him 🥺

Many of you may remember Orville and his brother Wilbur when they first came into care. These poor boys had such a hard start to life, but despite everything, they have grown into incredibly loving dogs with so much affection to give. Wilbur has found his wonderful forever home… now it’s Orville’s turn 💛

Orville is such a people-loving boy. He wants nothing more than to be close to his humans, involved in daily life, snuggled on the couch, or proudly carrying around his favourite toys — including this giant carrot gifted to him by a kind supporter at one of our adoption days 🥕🥹

He already knows great basics like sit, stay, wait, leave it, down, and come 👏 He walks beautifully on lead and is very food motivated, which makes ongoing training fun and rewarding.

What Orville truly needs is a family willing to give him time to settle, decompress, and feel safe. Like many rescue dogs, it can take a few weeks for him to fully relax and show his true self. Once he feels secure, he absolutely blossoms 🌼

He’d love an active home where he can be included in adventures, cuddles, and everyday life 🏡✨ He’s crate trained, great with people, and may suit a home with older children due to his goofy teenage energy 🤪 He could also live with cats with proper introductions and boundaries, and may enjoy a doggy friend too 🐶

After everything he’s been through, we would love more than anything to see Orville finally experience the security and unconditional love of a forever family 💛

🐾 Meet Harmony 🐾 Harmony is a beautiful young Staffy cross based in CHRISTCHURCH 🏡 and she’s searching for her perfect forever family ❤️

Born in September 2025, this happy girl is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has completed puppy school 🎓🐶 where she learned all the basics. Harmony is full of love, personality, and playful energy — she absolutely adores people, other dogs, and being involved in everything going on around her 🐕✨

At 21.6kg, she’s the perfect medium size with the softest coat and sweetest nature 🥰 She loves zoomies, walks, chew toys, cuddles, and making new friends everywhere she goes 🌳🎾🐾

Harmony would thrive in a home where she has plenty of company, regular exercise, and ongoing training to help her continue growing into the amazing adult dog she’s becoming 💕

She’d likely love a doggy companion 🐕‍🦺, but most importantly she needs a family who can give her love, time, patience, and fun adventures. She has been raised around cats 🐱 and is friendly, playful, and eager to please.

💔 Another heartbreaking loss for the Griffins litter 💔

Our hearts are breaking all over again at Auckland Puppy Rescue. 😢🍓

Beautiful little Shrewsbury sadly passed away yesterday after fighting so hard alongside her tiny siblings. Her little body was simply too weak after severe malnourishment and a heavy worm burden.

Sweet Shrewsbury passed peacefully in her loving foster carer Pieta’s arms, surrounded by warmth, love and care in her final moments. While we are devastated, we are grateful she got to experience kindness in her last days. 🌈🐾

Huge thank you to her incredible foster Pieta for the sleepless nights, syringe feeding, fluids, and endless love she gave this precious girl.

We also cannot thank Leanne and the amazing team at Vet Trust Henderson enough. They have gone above and beyond — fitting these puppies in urgently, staying in constant contact, and helping guide their care every step of the way. ❤️

These babies are critically unwell. They are receiving fluids every 2 hours, 24 hours a day, alongside medications, specialist feeding, and intensive care. They are now on their third round of worming treatment and are STILL passing live worms.

We are holding our breath for the remaining 5 puppies, with little Gingernut back at the vet again today.

The vet bills are climbing rapidly and we desperately need help to continue fighting for these babies.
