You might spot a new face on farm this spring.

Macy Clegg is a UK-trained vet with a dairy farm background, and she's now part of our team in South Canterbury. Right now she's busy with calvings, calf health, disbudding and pre-mating work alongside our dairy vets and technicians.

When she's not working, you'll find her running, hiking, gardening or helping out on her partner's farm.

We love hearing this 💚

"Everyone at Aorangi Vets are so lovely and always provide the gold standard of care for our Dachshund puppy. I couldn't recommend this place more. No complaints of cost because the quality and standard is so high. Thank you for taking such good care of our pets."

Caring for your pets - and doing it well - is always the goal.
Still proud of this one 💚

It's Vet Nurse Awareness Week, so we're giving one of ours a proper shout out.

Amy was the driving force behind our Cupcake Day fundraiser, bringing her passion for the cause to life. She rallied the bakers, put up posters around town, sorted the tables and kept things moving, all on top of her usual nursing work.

Thanks to everyone who baked, bought and donated, both in Geraldine and Fairlie. Together, we raised $781.40, which is now on its way to help animals in need. 🧁

Thanks Amy. We’re lucky to have you. 💜

"The staff work amazingly together to provide wonderful healthcare. The communication is always amazing which is so reassuring. They have wonderful customer service also and love the animals they work with. Couldn't rate them more highly."

It’s Vet Nurse Awareness Week, and this review says a lot about our team.

From welcoming clients and keeping the day on track, to supporting vets, caring for animals and helping owners feel reassured, our Vet Nurses and Vet Techs play such an important part in making great animal care happen.

Thank you, Andrea, for taking the time to recognise our team. And thank you to all our Vet Nurses and Vet Techs for the skill, care and kindness you bring to our world every day 💚

This Vet Nurse Awareness Week, we want to say a big thank you to Courtney, and her girl Shanti.

Earlier this year, Dora came into our Highfield clinic having trouble giving birth and our team needed to perform an emergency Caesarean section. Dora then developed serious complications and needed a blood transfusion.

That's where Courtney came in. She brought her dog Shanti in to donate blood, and that blood helped give Dora the chance to recover and get home to her puppies.

All three pups were back in for their first vaccinations, happy and thriving.

Courtney, thank you for everything you do, on and off the clock. And Shanti, you're a legend 🐾

A good working dog body condition check takes about 30 seconds.

Catherine ran through what she looks for with Don:
✅ Ribs you can feel easily when you run your hands over them, but can't see
✅ They should feel about like the backs of your fingers
✅ A nice defined waist
✅ A shiny, healthy coat

Doing this once a month makes small changes easy to pick up, especially in the busy seasons when dogs are covering a lot of ground.
