Just a little thank you ❤️

I wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of my amazing and understanding clients who have so happily shuffled appointments around over the past week while I’ve been a little out of action.

I’m usually the girl who just soldiers on and gets things done regardless… but these days I’ve got a little hitchhiker along for the ride who I need to think about too. 🤰🏼❤️ Sometimes that means actually listening to my body and slowing down when it tells me to!

Thankfully, things are looking up and I’ve got appointments booked in for tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed from there I’ll be away laughing and back into the swing of things. 🐾

I genuinely appreciate everyone’s patience, kindness and understanding. Being self-employed can make taking unexpected time out a little stressful, and having such a wonderful bunch of clients makes it so much easier.

Thank you for being so good to me, and my little passenger. ❤️🐾

BUT MY CAT LOVES CHEESE!

Oh, we know. 😂
Open the fridge.
Touch the cheese packet.
Suddenly a cat who has ignored you for the last 6 hours is your best friend in the entire world. 👀🐈

But here’s the slightly awkward part…
Cats and dairy aren’t actually the best combination.
Despite every childhood cartoon showing cats happily drinking bowls of milk, many adult cats are actually lactose intolerant!

When kittens are little, they produce an enzyme called lactase, which helps them digest the lactose in their mother’s milk. As they’re weaned and grow up, their bodies often produce much less of it.

So that innocent bowl of cow’s milk can potentially result in…
💩 Diarrhoea
💨 Gas and bloating
🤢 Vomiting
😿 An uncomfortable tummy

Not quite the wholesome milk-and-kitty moment the cartoons promised us.

BUT WHAT ABOUT CHEESE? 🧀
Some cheeses contain less lactose than milk, so a teeny piece might not cause any problems for some cats.
However, cheese is also high in fat, calories and often salt, and your cat gets absolutely no nutritional benefit from needing it in their diet.
Basically…
Can they steal a microscopic crumb of cheese and probably live to tell the tale? Yes. 😂
Should we be handing over half our block of tasty cheddar because they’re screaming at us from the kitchen floor? Probably not. 👀

🥛 WHAT ABOUT CAT MILK?
Lactose-reduced milk specifically made for cats is a much better choice if you want to give them a milky treat. Just remember, it’s still a treat, not a replacement for water.

💧 Fresh water should always be their main drink.
And if you’ve got one of those cats who thinks drinking from their perfectly clean water bowl is beneath them but happily drinks from a questionable puddle outside…

Over our fun and educational 5 weeks, we cover so much more than just “sit” and “stay”. We work on building confident puppies, good manners, handling, recall, lead skills, settling, socialisation and those all-important everyday life skills, while also helping you understand why your puppy does the things they do!

With over 10 years of experience running Puppy Preschools, my goal is for you to finish the course feeling confident, equipped and excited about raising your puppy, with plenty of practical knowledge and skills to take home and continue using as they grow. ❤️
