🎨 Waipā Artist Feature Update! 🎨

A massive thank you to everyone who entered, we have absolutely loved seeing all your wonderful work. And we also got some unexpected giggles at some answers online, kids brains are so honest and sweet.

Our artist feature has officially wrapped up for Te Awamutu!

We will be deliberating over the entries shortly and will share our next steps soon.

If you missed this entry window, entries close on 16th October for our Cambridge art installations.

Pick up or drop off your sheet on our website or in-store with our business friends at 'Pets on Alexandra'. Either sheet is accepted, level 1 and level 2. Reminder all-ages welcome.

One day a year is not enough to say I Love You and I Appreciate you, Dad!

Some things come full circle. 🪵⚡

Looking back at these old memories says everything about where KRA Dog Scoops started and where we’re heading.

📸 1. The "just get amongst it": Dad out in the backyard doing the quiet work—raking leaves while keeping an eye on me buried in the pile having a good ol' time with a red cup (probably pinched Dad's tea 😂❤️).

📸 2. The Engineering Imprints: Dad featured in the Waikato Times back in 2008 for his pioneer work in the energy sector, following his career as a chemical engineer.

A massive shout-out to my dad for his engineering mindset, initiative, and sheer grit. Growing up around him was basically quiet training I didn't even realize I was getting—he passed down so much practical knowledge, tools, and a problem-solving mindset that I rely on every single day. Our dinner chats seem to be paying off! 🤓🤠

📸 3. The Cheeky Side: An old Father’s Day card where I certified he survived another year of me and wished him "good luck for the following year" — which he also survived and absolutely deserved 🫶🫶🫶 Love you, Dad! 🫶☺️

Fast forward to today, and KRA Dog Scoops is putting that training into action right here in Waipā.

We’re starting with our Phase 1 pilot—delivering reliable, professional pet waste removal and testing the waters to see if the community is ready for a new venture into sustainable innovation.

The long-term goal for Year 2 is to take that energy sector knowledge and chemical engineering mindset to explore local bio-energy conversion, just like they already do in countries like Canada.

But for now, it's about doing the hard mahi, getting the fundamentals right, gathering the data, seeing if the community is ready/interested, and keeping our green spaces clean.

Thanks for passing down the grit, knowledge, and practical tools, Dad🫶🫶

Our "A Little Goes A Long Way: Artist Feature" All-Ages Colouring Competition officially went LIVE yesterday!

Grab your crayons and colored pencils, charcoal+++ because we want to see your artistic flair.

Entries are open for all ages! Yes that's ye grandma too ✨🤎
Whether you're 5 or 105, entries are open to everyone with unlimited entries allowed!

How to enter:

1️⃣ Pop in and pick up/drop off your physical entry sheet with our wonderful friends at Pets on Alexandra- Pet Shop(in Te Awamutu).

2️⃣ Or, download/print from our website at kradogscoops .co.nz and upload your photo entry there.

There was sun this morning and I’ll level with you—I may have stepped in it🥴🥸😎🫣🤓.
I have somehow found myself...

Standing in the right place at the right time, staring willingly at a whole lot of dog sh # #... and honestly?

Can't believe I'm saying this.. I'm low-key excited for it, and what's to come from it...

That’s pretty much how KRA Dog Scoops was born here in Te Awamutu - me stepping in it and the rest is history.

Between walking my doggo and watching more and more waste pile up in our local spaces, I realized I am fortunately/unfortunately(We'll see), the kind of person willing to take one for the team and actually deal with it. And this venture has definitely kind of taken off since.

I have been keeping things strictly behind the scenes while the KRA foundations are built—with our community's input—but I wanted to officially introduce what I'm up to, to the social media world.

KRA Dog Scoops manages pet waste (dogs mainly), with a wholesome approach to improve the lives of property owners, companion pets, and the environment that surrounds us all, including future generations.

This all started after my vets told me my Billy boy was geriatric. (I honestly didn't expect it because, well, he's my Billy boy and he's definitely not old albeit 9 in hooman years! But it made me want to change my life and his life right then and there, so I can give him the absolute best life for however long he has left . He’s my absolute best friend and has changed my world for the better in so many ways) - That afternoon walk with Billy, stepping right in it , changed everything.

Since then , a wild adventure started: We have so much more to catch you up on, but for now...Because I want to keep things manageable during this next growth phase, our very first batch of routes is already wrapped up and the waitlist is officially open for the next round.

Because I want to make sure every single yard gets the absolute highest standard of care during this initial rollout and the next growth plans we have in motion, the very first batch of routes is now officially wrapped up.

The waitlist is officially open for the next round!
