Bring Eliza Home Hoping to bring home our beloved pet spoodle Eliza who went missing 22/11/23 from Te Anau/Milford Rd

19/01/2024

After quite a long spell of no sightings I have been told today of a possible sighting in the town.
This was initially dismissed by the person as they thought Eliza was bigger than she is.
None of our posted pictures have any sense of scale in them, other that the one in the landrover.
With her head up, she’d only come to your knee. She’d measure about a foot tall at the shoulder.
Thanks heaps, I know so many people are invested in this dog, and I’d love to get her back for the fairy tale ending, but mostly cos I love her to bits.

Don the dog man is urging me to keep the faith and bring my A+ game to finding Eliza. Honestly I don’t need much urging as my heart is bleeding for this wee dog, my faithful companion and a truely awesome friend. I’d give any thing to get her back.
Please keep an eye out still, as if she’s gone wild, or something else has happened to her, I’d really like to bring her back home. Don’t worry about getting my hopes up, I like hope. If you think you’ve seen her, give me a call. A location, time and ideally a picture would mean the world. Thanks heaps for staying with us.

Merry Christmas to all the friends of Eliza following this page! Words can’t express how grateful I am to the friends and strangers who are so committed to getting Eliza home. I had a very helpful person, visiting from overseas, who gave up their time on Christmas Day to call me and describe a potential Eliza sighting. 🙏
With all the activity and extra people in town, this might be just the opportunity to get some more frequent sightings on the board and try and work out what Eliza is up to. The big break we’re after is a reported sighting that we can respond to asap. Also a picture. I would crawl through broken glass for a picture that proved Eliza was still alive and out there doing her thing.
Thanks heaps everyone. You’re awesome.

We had really hoped to have Eliza home some time ago. It can be hard to stay positive about the chances of her return, but we know how smart and resourceful this wee girl is. If she is parked up in town somewhere, she may find that the quiet wee garden she’s been parked in turns into a raucous campsite for the holidays. This could mean an upset to her routine, or that she’s likely to be out and about trying to find a new safe spot. Please let us know of any sightings of a loose wee dog matching her description as soon as possible. Please also note that we aren’t going to be able to catch this dog, so please don’t try - just give us a call.
Thanks heaps for helping out and giving Eliza the best chance to get home asap.

Thanks everyone for keeping the faith, and getting those sightings reported. There have been a few around the town, and we’re really keen to keep building up the picture of where she might be hanging out and what she gets up to.
It seems incomprehensible that such a domesticated wee dog would be doing her best to avoid humans, and is 100% in survival mode, but that’s where she’s at. It’ll be a task getting her back to us, but we are so thankful to the commitment people are showing. Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out for Eliza. ❤️

3 weeks now since Eliza took herself off hunting rabbits.
We’ve had a number of sightings that indicate that she may well be in town and has set herself up with a safe space somewhere.
We are not actively “hunting” for Eliza, we’re just trying to fine tune where she may be, so that we can make ourselves available so she can come to us. It’s really important that we don’t hunt for her as we could pressurise her out of her safe zone, and then we’re back to looking for her in a 4000+ hectare area again. Square 1 is a very big square, so we don’t want to go back there!
Thanks for keeping a sharp eye out and reporting any sightings with a location asap.
Thanks so much for keeping the dream alive of having Eliza back with her family again.

Which one of these two do you think stayed at home, and which one ran away for nearly three weeks so far???
We’ve had another strong lead in the area near the rugby grounds, so we do urge you to report any sightings of a loose brown/ginger/apricot spoodle in the area. Please don’t try to approach/catch her. If you can make a note of your location and where you saw the dog come from / go to, that would be mega.
Thanks so much for your help in what is becoming quite the drawn out saga.

Day 15 since Eliza went missing.
It is hard not to despair at this time, but we are still hanging on to the hope that Eliza is out there somewhere being the resourceful adventurous dog we love so much.
Please report any sightings as soon as possible after seeing her/ a loose dog matching her description. A picture would be awesome, but a “dropped pin” on google maps, with an indication of where she’d come from or was going to would be excellent. Please don’t approach her as she’ll be likely to run away, shift location and hide.

Day 12 today since Eliza went missing. Still hopeful. She might still be looking pretty and groomed, because she’s pretty keen on personal hygiene. She might also be looking a little unkempt. Please keep an open mind and report any sightings of apricot spoodles in the Te Anau/ Manapouri area.
Thanks everyone. Looking forward to getting this girl home.
