Unexpected family reunion at this week. Clem’s sister ‘Poppy’ (who she hasn’t seen since early puppyhood) needed collecting to rehome. We travelled up and got her. As so many of you know with rescues things can be hard, and Poppy has some significant issues, she’s pretty overwhelmed at times but she’s also the sweetest girl and being around her over-confident sister is helping. Clem is also giving her a special pass which is really cool.
Poppy is about the best looking corgi lass I’ve seen (Clem can’t read right?). Enjoying her while she’s here for a few days, looking after whanau. 🐕❤️

UPDATE: so hearing feedback, SMS reminders are useful, but many of you suggest 24hrs before, not 1 hour. So we might give it a trial I think.
SMS reminders; useful or not?
Hey, we use SMS txt reminders one hour before bookings:
1) Do you get them?
2) Are they useful?
3) Is 60mins beforehand good or does a better time suit?

Heads up. Tomorrow there’s a planned burn off of old forestry slash over the top of the hill above . So if you’re here and see or smell smoke you’ll know what’s happening. Have a nice weekend.

⚠️ Burn off advisory ⚠️

Fire and Emergency New Zealand would like to advise there’ll be three controlled burn offs of forestry slash piles on Collins Ave over the next few days. The first burn will be lit around 8.30am Saturday 23 May.

Wellington is currently in an open fire season.

We are advised the burns will be closely supervised, and all appropriate safety precautions taken. Weather conditions and fire risk will be monitored throughout the activity.

There will be visible smoke from the fires. If you're property is impacted by smoke we recommend closing windows and doors.

If conditions become unsuitable, the burn will be extinguished or postponed.

We are notifying residents and the wider public to reduce unnecessary concern and minimise the number of 111 calls..

UPDATE: all sorted now.
Well the beloved bendy bridge got stress tested beyond its limits this evening. It’s been serving dogs, humans, lawnmowers, and many other things & has had thousands over its back. But alas it’s no more. So, if you’re booked tmrw, perhaps bring your gumboots just in case. While I’ve built a replacement tonight, I’m not 💯 sure it’ll be operational tmrw, but will try.
