Hi Im Kat the Dog Lady and I am a local qualified dog trainer for the Bay of Plenty. Having spent a great deal of time there during school holidays etc..

We offer One to one dog training sessions, puppy development classes, Puppy Board and Trains, and an amazing range of treats and training products. Dogs are us is here to help dog owners better understand their relationship with their dog through education and building trust. As a child I always had a passion for animals, never being able to have our own pets when I was younger we were lucky to have family who lived on a farm. I was in love, trying to drag the dogs into the house paddock where they were not allowed and the adults watching on from the window with grins on their face while the dogs though very aware this was a no go zone obliged begrudgingly. I finally got my first dog (a Bouvier) as a teen knowing next to nothing about how to train her, but wanting to take her everywhere (not an easy task at almost 80kg). It was a learning curve! Getting my next dog mixed breed from a rescue, and realizing how smart he is I didnt want to waste his potential which is when I studied with NDTF in Australia, and have continued learning with other great trainers. I bring passion to wanting to understand any problems we face as dog owners and how I can best help. With my knowledge I want others to know how building relationships with our dogs through training can only improve the bond we have with them. Through understanding how our dogs learn we can create sound obedience and a great working relationship.

Land or Sea.... our floating tug balls are a great way to burn off some energy and have a play... as it gets warmer and our dogs decide on a swim, doesnt mean we have to loose every ball we throw them! Get one thats easy to see and floats! Check out our range of other fun toys too here at

Its starting to warm up out there and our dogs will start feeling it soon.. dont forget for a fair furred four legged friends, they can burn so Slip Slop Slap. Get your pet sunblock stocked up for summer!

It cant be! But it is, the last puppy class for the year is fast approaching...Calling all Pups and their owners.. November is our last lot of classes for the year. Available to book NOW. Never fear. We will still be operating with our 1 to 1 sessions during the break. But if you are wanting to squeeze in a class, you better book now as numbers are limited.
