🐝 World Bee Day Awareness 🐝
World Bee Day celebrates bees and the important role they play in food production and biodiversity.
While they’re essential for ecosystems, pets can sometimes get into trouble around them. A bee’s buzz may attract curiosity, and interactions can sometimes lead to a sting.
Bees usually sting only in self-defence. Most stings cause mild swelling and temporary pain and are not dangerous, but pets should still be monitored for any stronger reaction.
⚠️ Signs of a severe reaction include:
• Significant swelling, especially spreading beyond the sting site
• Swelling in the mouth or throat (may affect breathing)
• Difficulty breathing
• Weakness or extreme discomfort
• Excessive scratching or fur pulling at the site
If you notice any of these, seek veterinary care immediately. If a sting is present, it’s best to seek veterinary advice on removal and care.
