A horse has been found in the Welcome Bay area on Monday, 6 July and we are looking for the owner!

If you believe this may be your horse, please contact Animal Services and be prepared to provide proof of ownership. To help us reunite the horse with its rightful owner, we won't be sharing identifying details publicly.

Should fireworks in public places be banned? We are currently out for consultation proposing to prohibit the use of fireworks in public places, unless approved by Tauranga City Council.

Green means go! It’s time to register your dog for the 2026/27 year.

Registration fees help fund essential services including education and safety programmes across the community and maintaining dog shelter facilities to care for lost or stray dogs, and rehoming dogs that come into our care.

They also support our response to barking, roaming, or aggressive dog complaints, the installation and upkeep of poo bag dispensers, maintaining our registration database of more than 15,000 dogs, and monitoring leash rules and dog-prohibited areas.

Register before 1 August to avoid late fees.

We’re asking for feedback on proposed amendments to the Street Use and Public Places Bylaw 2026.

This includes:
🎇 A proposal to restrict the use of fireworks in public places
🏡 A review of the size of real estate signs in public places

These proposals respond to community feedback and aim to ensure our public spaces are safe, practical and well-managed.
