Have Fun With Your Dog...
TAUPO DOG TRAINING CLUB is an associated All Breeds Society of the New Zealand Kennel Club, and approved to conduct Championship Shows in Obedience and Agility. You don’t have to be competitive, just to have a love of dogs and be prepared to put in the time for practice. The Objects Of The Club Are:
To help local owners train their dogs in basic obedience. To promote the

sport of dog training by conducting classes at different levels within the different codes, i.e. Any dog? YES. – All breeds are welcome from 5 months of age. (Puppy classes are held for puppies aged 12 weeks to 5 months subject to availability of instructors.) Handlers who graduate from Basics are then eligible to further their training in Competition Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Rally-O and Working Trials, and once dogs reach 12 months of age can begin Foundation Agility. What Will The Dog Be Taught? Acceptable behavior with other dogs and people. To walk at heel on lead. To come when called. To stay in a sit or down position on command. Who Trains The Dog? You do, within class and at least five times a week between classes. You need only to train for a few minutes each time but it must be regular. If you are not prepared to do this then you won’t get the results.

Entries are now open on the DogsNZ website for our Canine Good Citizen assessment weekend Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.
We will be running Foundation and Bronze on Saturday, Silver and Gold on Sunday.
These assessments take a lot of organising and require a group of volunteers to help with the various exercises across all levels.
If you can help in any way, we would love to hear from you.
For those not entering, it is a great way to learn how these events run and to support those working with their dogs.
Please speak to your instructor or a committee member if you can help us.

Wow what a weekend for the taupo dog training clubs rally O teams. Doing us proud.
Rally O has a strong focus on relationship and bonds between dog and handler and it shows for these guys and there results.
Congratulations to you all.

Vicki and Cohen swapped the obedience ring for the rally O ring for the very first time with outstanding results. 2 rounds resulting in 2 qualifying certificates.

3 qualifying rounds, resulting in a 3rd place and 2 2nd places.

Looks like the Rally O instructor needs to run an advanced class in the very near future, as these teams work there way up the levels.

Term 3 puppy class and basic obedience. Week 3 sees a blustery but fine day for handlers and canines to show off there skills they have learnt so far. Thankyou to Liz and Amanda for giving up your time to continue to teach and encourage these teams.

Huge congratulations to Ella and Bambi who travelled all the way to Papamoa to compete at Mt Maunganui’s Agility Ribbon today not only get a clear but a 2nd place ribbon and then an awesome run in starters how incredibly proud I am of you both!! Awesome work out there today and so pleased we were there to watch and support you!!

TERM 3 REGISTRATIONS

Hi everyone,

Term 3 registrations are now open for Puppy class, Basic Skills, CGC, Rally-O and Agility closing on Wednesday August 12th at 5pm. So get in there asap so you can get into the class of your choice.
