It is a development every hunter should be aware of.

We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow night at Hunting & Fishing Taupo (Fly & Gun) for the first of the Sika Series, our fundraising and information events for 2025.

We’ll have movie screenings:

• Kaimanawa, the Blood Origins short film that everyone is talking about.
• An awesome video by Stoney Creek NZ on our spiker tracking collar study
• A short video by Waikato Regional Council about our predator control work.

Corina Jordan, the new chief executive of the Game Animal Council will join us as well, and there will be a Q&A with the Sika Foundation team where you can ask all your burning questions.

There’s deals, raffles and door prizes!

You’ll go in the draw to win one of our two fantastic main prizes for the Sika Series:

• A Nocpix thermal imaging monocular from Infiray Optics (RRP: $4,199).
• Top-quality hunting apparel from our partner Stoney Creek worth $1000.

The winners of these two prizes will be drawn at the Sika Show in November, but there will be other raffle prizes and giveaways on the night.

Thanks to the team at Hunting and Fishing Taupō, there will be an auction where you can snap up some huge bargains, including a Death Grip Tripod Camo, Beretta and Swarovski packs, and so much more!

We’d like to say an extra big thanks to them, as they just told us that they’ll also donate 10% of the sale value of any products sold on the night (after 6:30pm) to The Sika Foundation. That's fantastic!

So, don’t miss it! Tell your friends! See you at the Sika Series Taupō

Here's another rarity:
This is a European Brown Hare from New Zealand, but in the blue phase. Not something you see everyday!

This little gem was entered in the annual New Zealand Taxidermy Association's competition by Louise, where it was awarded best Small Mammal in the Masters Division and Best Habitat, as well.

Here is a great personal trophy!

Vern shot this 17 year old bull on the West Coast a couple of years ago. A real battler which we guess lost a horn early on as the skin had fully healed over on top of the skull and he'd managed to live for a long life despite also being blind in one eye!

Vern entered his bull in the 2024 New Zealand Taxidermy Association's annual competition and received a blue ribbon in the Masters Division.
