Working Equitation (WE) is a fun discipline that any horse breed & rider from any discipline can get involved in. Welcome to the Taranaki Working Equitation! What combines the beauty of dressage, the thrill of speed events, the precision of a trail class, and the skill set of a working ranch, stock or farm horse? That would be working equitation, a discipline popular in Europe and rapidly gaining

traction in the U.S, Australia and New Zealand. Founded in the mid-1990s in Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy, this international sport showcases the equitation techniques developed in countries that use horses to do ranch or/and livestock work. Working Equitation Flatwork (Dressage) and Ease of Handling phases are designed to promote ethical training and competing, long the classical style and philosophy, that has the horses education and welfare its core. Working Equitation (WE) is a fun discipline that any horse bred & rider from any discipline can get involved in. What a fantastic weekend at Taranaki Working Equitation 3rd Annual Show! Massive thanks to all the judges, officials and helpers.

We’re so proud to share our overall results and celebrate the achievements of all our riders from those stepping into the arena for the first time through to more experienced combinations. It was wonderful to see such great horsemanship, partnership, and sportsmanship on display across the board.
