Moose (CK Butterscotch) really enjoying coming back into work after weaning Brandy recently.
It has been so valuable being able to ride her and see for myself how lovely she is. It makes me even more excited to eventually ride Brandy in the future.

✨ NZ Warmblood Tour – Merit Award for Brandy Schnapps SA ✨
Also stepping forward for Sarah Andrews was the dark brown filly Brandy Schnapps SA, who earned herself a Merit Award and will enter the stud book in Register 1.

Brandy Schnaps is by Southcote Glamourwind (Glamourdale), and out of the Stud Book mare CK Butterscotch, by the imported Canadian Warmblood Scotch and Soda, with Earl and Weltmeyer further back on the dam line - a pedigree combining proven European dressage influence and established performance families.

She presented as a nice, correct type of filly, with an active trot and canter and a balanced way of going, showing plenty of the qualities you like to see in a young dressage prospect.

A solid, honest youngster and a well-deserved Merit result for Sarah.

🌿 NZ Warmblood Tour – Mare Stud Book Acceptance 🌿
It wasn’t just youngstock stepping forward today — we also had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely, proven broodmare into the New Zealand Warmblood Mare Stud Book.
Presented by Sarah Andrews of Reporoa, Henton Lucille came forward for assessment.
Lucille is by Limonit out of the Anamour x Distelfink mare Henton Anastasia, bringing together a strong mix of proven European jumping lines and athletic performance blood.
Although now an older mare, she presented in beautiful condition — a real credit to her care and management — and still very much showing the quality and type that has made her such a valuable producer over the years.
She finished just shy of a Merit Award, earning solid marks across the board, and was officially accepted into the NZ Warmblood Mare Stud Book.
And really, this is exactly what the stud book is about — recognising mares who have quietly done the job, year after year, producing quality competition horses and contributing to the strength of the breed.
A lovely mare, a long history as a broodmare, and very deserving of formal recognition.
Congratulations Sarah.

We still have one schooler with us who has been with us a wee while, 3 year old race horses Rosie who has been with us for some pre training. I just have to share because she is so awesome first time on a cross country field and she happily baby sat the pony and kid and was so lovely and relaxed. She will definitely be a stable favorite once she heads to the trainer

Brandy came in to the stables for the first time today for a bit of handling,
This is her second time wearing a halter and picking her feet up.
About a month ago we taught her how to step forward and we picked up her feet which she learnt without any fuss. Today she remembered it all and we added in bringing her hoof forward always an important step in preparation for the farrier.
Brandy is 2 months old
