Sharing the highlights of the largest scale study investigating the long-term effect of aversion learning in dogs. This study uses data of the kiwi aversion training in the Coromandel, NZ.

Highlights
• In New Zealand, we quantified avoidance of shock-paired stimuli across 1647 sessions of kiwi aversion training involving 1156 dogs.

• All dogs displayed avoidance to the training stimuli after the first training session.

• Avoidance increased across training sessions with 100% avoidance by the fifth session.

• Some dogs displayed lower levels of avoidance, including older dogs trained for the first time and those with a three-year gap or longer between training sessions.

• While the majority of dogs avoided the kiwi training stimuli, it is recommended that the ecological translation of the training stimuli be investigated.

Attention pet owners!!! - Bad news about Seresto collars

Oversight Subcommittee Report Reveals EPA Failed to Protect Pets, Owners From Dangerous Flea and Tick Collar

Washington, D.C. (June 15, 2022)—Today, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, released a staff report entitled “Seresto Flea and Tick Collars: Examining Why a Product Linked to More than 2,500 Pet Deaths Remains on the Market,” which details the findings of the Subcommittee’s 16-month investigation into the safety of the Seresto flea and tick collar.

The report reveals that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under previous administrations was aware of the dangers of the Seresto collar as early as 2015 and failed to take action to protect pets and their owners.

Hello! Just a reminder that Pablos’s Dogs dog grooming and training services are not available under level 4 and 3. We are communicating with all clients to reschedule but please understand the situation is very uncertain and all dates are tentative.
