We've had this beautiful little boy brought in yesterday. He's male, not yet desexed and doesn't have a microchip.
He was found on the Tauranga Direct Road close to Jackson Road. He's very friendly so we think he has a loving home out there somewhere, he's also quite distinctive with a cleft lip.
Please contact the clinic on 07 348 2152 or message us if you can help him get home!

This very friendly girl was brought in this morning after being found around RBHS. She's microchipped but unfortunately it's not registered, she must have a loving family somewhere and we're hoping we can find it! Please share and help us get her home.

How it started vs how it went... 🐱
Beautiful Cosmo popped in on Friday to be sedated for his summer haircut, but once we'd removed a couple of mats we saw a little red spot under his front leg that needed a second look and a cheeky grass seed popped out! (You can see where Cosmo had been scratching trying to rid himself of his annoying passenger)
Once we'd found one we went looking for its friends and found 14 in total - some had just started to burrow down into the skin while several had managed to get right under the surface.
Two of our wonderful vets managed to coax them out while Cosmo slept on, with some requiring more persuasion than others!
This time of year we see plenty of dogs needing grass seeds removed, but it's not often we see them in cats, so if you have a long-haired cat, keep an eye out for pesky grass seeds stuck in their coats (particularly around their chest and front legs) so you can avoid a similar trip to the clinic.
We were glad to discharge Cosmo later on Friday, now grass seed-free and ready to enoy the rest of summer 🥰

We took a moment today to celebrate the achievements of two of our amazing vet nurses, Kat & Sophie.

In addition to working full-time in clinic, both Kat and Sophie have been completing their New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and we couldn’t be more proud of them!
Having completed their studies, they are now eligible for registration with the Allied Veterinary Professionals Regulatory Council and we’re excited to congratulate our newly minted 2026 Registered Veterinary Nurses.

Well done Kat & Sophie, and thank you both for the positivity, passion and commitment you bring to your roles at Vetora Rotorua every day 🥳👩‍🎓🎉
