Kia Ora koutou whānau

Ngā mihi nui to those of you that have responded to our Moko Hauora event. Due to the high volume of responses we have had, we are now closing off registrations.

Kia Ora e te whānau o Ōraka-Aparima Rūnaka!!

We are now accepting bookings for our 6th Annual Moko Hauora Wānanga.

Tā Moko is an opportunity to delve into our whakapapa, heal, connect, tell our stories, and address our past, present and future. It is a right of passage for us as māori.

We are once again fortunate to have 3 amazing Kaitā join us:

- Jacob Tautari

Declaration of rāhui: Ōraka-Aparima Rūnaka wish to advise a rāhui restriction on fishing and recreational activities has been placed on Lake Manapōuri, in a circular area including Frasers Beach and Supply Bay, as well as the nearby section of the Waiau River (see map). This rāhui will be in place until 2 April 2026. We sincerely ask that you respect this rāhui.

Would you like to be able to welcome manuhiri onto our marae?

A wānaka is coming up 20 to 22 March, where you can learn the important kaikōrero and kaikāraka roles.

Our Kaiako are Hana O’Regan, Paulette Tamati-Eliffe and Kiringāua Cassidy, with support from Gary Davis and Rangimaria Suddaby.

This opportunity is for Ōraka-Aparima Rūnaka members at the start, or part way on their journey, who are willing to contribute to our marae activities, whether now or sometime in the future.

Wānaka Date: 20-22 March.
