EADE STABLE NOMINATING FOUR RUNNERS FOR RIVERTON RACE MEETING

By Jamie Searle

Riverton trainer Graham Eade plans to have four runners at his local meeting next Wednesday.

The Riverton Racing Club meeting and Wairio Jockey Club's fixture at Ascot Park four days later are Southland's last two race days for the 2022-23 season.

Representing the Eade stable at the Riverton race day will be Ataahua Pipedream, Gintys Girl, Cosy Nook and Shazza.

Ataahua Pipedream had come through his maiden win at Wingatui last Sunday in good order, Eade said today.

The Rip Van Winkle gelding and Shazza will contest the rating 65 1200m at Riverton.

Gintys Girl and Cosy Nook will carry Eade's hopes in the rating 75 2147m and rating 65 1600m, respectively.

Ghibellines mare Gintys Girl has had a win and a second in her past three starts. She ran second last time out at Riverton (April 10), while the win was at Wingatui (March 20).

Cosy Nook is a consistent two-win gelding.

Meanwhile, the stable's well-performed galloper, Riviera Rock, is expected to resume training next month. He was forced to the sideline with a tendon injury and pulled muscles over the rump in February.

Riviera Rock has not raced since his eighth in the Invercargill Gold Cup on February 18. A fortnight earlier he finished second in the Dunedin Gold Cup.
