Standing Irish Draught stallion, Ballineen Blue Mountain. Producers of quality Irish youngstock.

Trevalda Irish Sporthorses, breeders of quality Irish horses, and standing purebred RID stallion, Ballineen Blue Mountain (Brian). Brian was imported from the UK in 2011, and comes with Grade One status with the Irish Horse Society of Great Britain. Our aim is to breed REAL quality Irish Sporthorses to compete in the saddle hunter rings, but who are as equally competitive in any of the olympic disciplines, and as field hunters. We have a carefully selected band of broodmares, warmblood, TB and Irish. These mares have been chosen for conformation and temperament to compliment Ballineen Blue Mountain and the foals we have on the ground are testament to us having the right formula. We quite often have young stock for sale, so just contact us with your needs. All horses are professionally handled and started under saddle here at Trevalda and you can see an ever increasing number of quality Irish sporthorses throughout the country competing under the 'Trevalda' prefix, that are giving their new owners much joy and success, which is what we love to see. Don't hesitate to contact us for any info regarding Irish horses, or stallion, Ballineen Blue Mountain.

A lovely hack up the road and then finally it was a decent enough day to get the hose and shampoo out!
Trevalda Mountain Lord will turn 5yrs soon and gosh, he is having a real growth spurt.
He's looking and feeling great but just a little hollow through the middle so clearly his current feeding regime is not keeping up with his growth so everything was upped today!
He's in very light work, just the odd hack out here and there and he's really going great.
Today he was washed with our favourite www.thehoneytrap.co.nz products. Dark Shine Shampoo on his coat and Glow White Shampoo and Elite Conditioning treatment on that lovely white, silky tail.

I've been a bit quiet lately and a little bit bummed out. I found Mr Zak had a new lump one night when I went out to feed him. Its on his back fetlock, it was hard and there was no sign of trauma.
X ray and scan show a cyst has formed. I've been treating with infra red and cold therapy but at this stage it's looking like his lump is here to stay. Its not causing him any bother, he's sound, its not sore to palpate. Anyone else successfully dealt to one of these in any way other than invasive surgery to remove? Anyone tried to drain one or inject with steroids to break it down?
PS: Zak is under very good veterinary advice, just wondering if others have dealt with the same thing.

Well, Winter has certainly made a come back today and the sheep have decided that today we will start lambing! 🤦‍♀️ Thats me over and out for the next 6 weeks or so 🐑. In the meantime (whilst I was trying to stay inside and look busy) I finished a little project I've been working on in my head for a while. 💜🤍🖤
