Trevalda Irish Sporthorses, breeders of quality Irish horses, and standing purebred RID stallion, Ballineen Blue Mountain (Brian). Brian was imported from the UK in 2011, and comes with Grade One status with the Irish Horse Society of Great Britain. Our aim is to breed REAL quality Irish Sporthorses to compete in the saddle hunter rings, but who are as equally competitive in any of the olympic dis

ciplines, and as field hunters. We have a carefully selected band of broodmares, warmblood, TB and Irish. These mares have been chosen for conformation and temperament to compliment Ballineen Blue Mountain and the foals we have on the ground are testament to us having the right formula. We quite often have young stock for sale, so just contact us with your needs. All horses are professionally handled and started under saddle here at Trevalda and you can see an ever increasing number of quality Irish sporthorses throughout the country competing under the 'Trevalda' prefix, that are giving their new owners much joy and success, which is what we love to see. Teeth and clipping day for Lordy.
A few edges to rasp off and a pesky little baby tooth that has stayed put and is obstructing the path of the adult tooth coming through.
It was removed reasonably easily and there is now a clear path for the new big tooth.
I got bored whilst waiting for the vet so got the clippers out and finished the job off while he was still d***y from his dental.

Rebel is producing some really lovely youngstock that are just starting to come out under saddle.
Rebel stands in Northland with Neil Swindlehurst. Rebel is not yet inspected by IDHSNZ but hopefully something Neil will get done soon.
Rebel was born in 2016 and was always a favorite foal here at Trevalda. He was of course by Ballineen Blue Mountain and out of a very special mare that was imported from Australia named Kilharken Heather (Keeley). Keeley had a full brother standing in Australia and her full sister has been the dam of two approved stallions in Australia. Keeley's grandsire was Glenagyle Rebel and hence where our Trevalda Mountain Rebel got his name.
It's lovely to see these bloodlines being used and enjoyed.

In work now and very first hack out of the arena. Started a bit wobbly and looky but soon got the hang of striding out. Onwards and upwards 💪☘️🦄
