We produce a variety of Microgreens to both hospitality and residential customers in Queenstown. All deliveries are electric in our LDV E-Deliver3 Van.

We offer multiple varieites of microgreens which are available in living trays or in pre-cut punnets. Both have surprisingly fantastic shelf life with the living trays easily lasting two weeks in the fridge (one week on a bench top in peak summer) or our harvested punnets which remain in fresh condition for up to ten days. Some of our current varieties:
Pak Choi, Red Cabbage, Tatsoi, Sunflower, Pea Shoots, Fava Bean, Mustard, Mizuna, Daikon, Rambo Radish, China Rose Radish, Rocket, Mixed Selection, Shungiku,

We harvest and deliver on same day (Tuesdays & Fridays) and operate regardless of public holidays. We have recently teamed up with Crunchy NZ, EDF & Remarkable Fungi and have these now available for home delivery or wholesale. Remarkable Fungi - Gourmet Culinary Mushrooms

Our business strives towards minimizing waste and environmental impact through a few green strategies. We source our electricity through Ecotricity - an energy provide which is New Zealands only 100% carbon zero provider and supplies 100% renewable electricity to our site. All used growing medium and other trade related waste is utilised on site in our food forest or other horticultural operations

We incentivise the return of all containers, grow trays & punnets (deposit/credit system) to minimise single use packaging.

🍄 **Fresh from the food forest!** 🌱

Here's Sunny harvesting some beautiful fresh oyster mushrooms growing straight out of Remarkable Fungi's spent mushroom blocks!

A little harvesting tip: picking mushrooms in the afternoon, once they've dried out a bit, means less moisture and a better result in the kitchen! 🍳

We're incredibly lucky to have this thriving, food-producing garden right next to Gibbston Microgreens HQ. Turning waste into food, embracing circular growing, and sharing fresh harvests with our team and families — that's what it's all about! 💚

🌱 A great visit from the team at Bitcoin Basin this week.

These guys are doing some really interesting work here in Queenstown, helping educate local businesses and the community about Bitcoin and the idea of a circular economy — where Bitcoin can actually be earned, spent and used locally.

Gibbston Microgreens now officially accepts Bitcoin for all home-delivery orders ₿, and the Bitcoin Basin crew can even help you get set up if you’re keen to give it a go.

It was awesome showing them around HQ, talking food, growing and local business — especially with Luli being an avid gardener herself! 🌱

🌱 A little school holiday hustle at Gibbston Microgreens! 🎨☀️

There's always something happening behind the scenes here at HQ!

This week we've recruited a little extra help from our extended family and friends to give our staff cabin and office a much-needed paint. 🏡

A great way to keep busy over the school holidays, learn a few practical skills, enjoy some time outdoors and earn a bit of pocket money along the way! 💚

We're big believers in getting the younger generation involved, teaching the value of hard work and showing them that a little effort goes a long way.

It's not all about growing microgreens around here — we're growing opportunities, connections and a sense of community too. 🌿

A little more growing happening at Gibbston Microgreens 🌱

We’re building a series of raised beds and, for the first time, starting an annual garden here at our site.

The idea is pretty simple — to grow more of our own healthy, seasonal food and give our team and family greater access to fresh produce grown right here alongside the microgreens.

Over the years, this little patch of land has continued to evolve, and we love the idea of gradually turning more of it into productive growing space.

Microgreens will always be at the heart of what we do, but there’s something pretty special about being able to step outside, harvest food from the garden, and take it straight home to the family.

Another small step towards growing more, wasting less, and making good food part of everyday life. 🌿

🌱 Meet Kyle — one of the legends behind the logistics.

Every week, Kyle helps us get our fresh microgreens out of HQ and on the road to our customers in Te Anau and Milford Sound.

It’s a fair journey from our grow room to some of those kitchens, and having good local people like Kyle helping us along the way means our produce arrives fresh, on time, and handled with care. 💚

Another important link in the little local food chain that keeps Gibbston Microgreens moving.

Daddy–daughter work day 🌱

When you’re planting hundreds of trays every week, there’s a fair bit of prep that happens before a single seed goes in.

Luckily, today I had a little helper getting all our trays lined and ready to grow. 💚

Running a small local business takes plenty of time — but days like this are a pretty good reminder that work and quality family time don’t always have to be separate.

🌿 NEW TO THE PRODUCT LIST — LEMON BALM 🌿

Something new is coming out of the grow room at Gibbston Microgreens.

Introducing Micro Lemon Balm — a beautifully aromatic little green with a fresh, bright lemon fragrance and flavour.

We’ve been trialling this one specifically with desserts and cocktails in mind — a fresh garnish for pastry chefs, restaurants, bars and anyone looking to add a little citrus lift to a plate or glass. 🍋🍸

This is our first batch in rotation, pictured just about at the size we’re aiming for.

We’ll be supplying Micro Lemon Balm exclusively as a living product, delivered in its punnet and harvested as you need it — keeping it fresh, vibrant and looking its best right up until service.

Another new flavour joining the Gibbston Microgreens range. 🌱

🌳 A very special addition to our food forest 🌳

Today, the team planted Sunny’s apple tree to celebrate and honour five incredible years with Gibbston Microgreens.

Sunny has contributed so much to our little business over the years, and we wanted to mark the milestone with something meaningful—something that will grow, flourish and remain part of this place for many years to come.

Thank you for everything, Sunny. Here’s to five years, and to watching your apple tree grow alongside us! 🍎🌱

Making room for solar ☀️

With solar on the horizon, we needed to free up our main roof space—so the shade sail sheltering our planting corridor has come down.

In its place, we’ve built this permanent roof structure, keeping our planting area protected from Queenstown’s weather while preparing Gibbston Microgreens for a more energy-efficient future. 🌱

Over winter, Chris, Sammy & Sunny have been doing some pruning in the food forest to ensure that all of the fruit trees will produce their best fruits in the coming season and to allow the trees to form the most productive shape. We can’t wait to see the blossoms forming soon - a sign that spring is on the way ! 🌳🪾🌲
