Her reactivity toward certain breeds has been pretty clear, but today we had a breakthrough. ☺️
We started with bared teeth and tension… and finished with calm acceptance.
So proud of you, girl. Progress like this takes courage. 🐾

Our hearts and puku’s are full after a fulfilled day of family and food. I hope you’ve had a similar day!

Thank you to all my clients for your continued support and understanding. With Bedde now six months old, business will resume as usual in the new year. I’ve truly missed it and can’t wait to take on new challenges, share knowledge with like-minded people, and help set dogs on the right path.

🐾 Exciting Update for Our Thursday Pack Walks! 🐾🚶‍♀️
To give each dog the focused attention they deserve, our Thursday walks will now be split into smaller groups, rotating weekly and reuniting at the end of each month. This means more personalised training, better obedience, and safe socialising for every dog in the pack. 🐶💬✨

One of the best parts of our Thursday Trails is catching up with my old dogs — seeing how they’re doing, and giving them the chance to socialise with their pack.

By understanding what motivates each one (and what might trigger them), I can make sure every walk is safe, structured, and enjoyable for the whole group.

With Inja nearing 5 years old, an overwhelming realisation hit me that if he is to mentor a pup, I am best to act pronto.

6 months of looking through pups and communication with breeders, we found her. Her temperament, large ears and solid black coat with white flecked neck-chest are on-point.

This decision was possible knowing Inja’s calm nature, training on & off-lead and gentle mannerisms would allow me to concentrate on training Bedde without having to worry about his movements.

We are doing our utmost to keep Inja first and not leave him feeling left out. We want him to love her and not resent. He’s tolerating amazingly.

There’s no way we could add to our family while having doubts on his training or behaviour.

💦 Aqua Paws is heading into its last week. We are very sorry to be closing after 7 years of helping the dogs of Dunedin with their health journey, but it is time to look after our own health. We hope you all understand 💕

One of our current clients reminded us yesterday of why Aqua Paws began in the first place, and that was to help improve the health of our canine clients through hydrotherapy.

Scout is a 2-year-old Fox Terrier referred to us from vsa_hospital in Christchurch after suffering an acute neurological disorder in December, which left him paralysed. Scout has the determination of a typical Terrier and along with his caring dad, Animal Physio Aoraki and VSA we have been lucky to be part of his journey to walk again.

We both shed a tear yesterday when we received a video of Scout walking unaided from his front door to the gate of his property. Check out the video in the comments ⬇️

We could not be happier for Scout and his family, and his story epitomises why we began this journey.

Thank you to all our clients over the years who have trusted us with their canine companions. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of their lives.
