I got to catch up with Disney in the weekend! Disney is a Tommy baby that I bred out of a very sweet, grey TB mare. Disney caught the eye of Michele almost from the day he was born and she in fact purchased him before he was weaned. He won her over that quickly! Disney is now rising 3 years old and is a much loved member for Michele's family. He is quite the little character! Look forward to following his progress in the future. Thanks, Michele, for taking such good care of this sweet little lad.

Hello!!! 👋
It has been a LONG LONG time since I have posted on this page!! ...
So I wanted to give you all a brief (hmm having now written this post, it isn’t very brief at all sorry! 😂) update on where everything is up to these days!

I had 8 months without riding, it was a bit weird but was really good to take a break and refocus. Oh and in that time I got married to the love of my life, Matt. We had the ceremony at our home in Waiau Pa & it was such a special day (have thrown a pic or two in here from the wedding ❤️)... so I am now Mrs Reid :0 (have to start properly being an adult now!)

I also followed my passion and started my own business in marketing, with two brands to tailor to different markets that I am dedicated to: “Ice Marketing” (which offers specialised equestrian industry marketing as well as general services) and “Restaurant Consulting Co” (which is specifically for the hospitality industry).

As you can imagine, these ventures were/are keeping me pretty busy so I wasn’t doing much in the way of horse activities over those 8 months, but (having been talked into it by a few people 😉), I did start to do a little bit of teaching again locally.

A couple of months ago, after some persistent, friendly “nagging”, Nic (who owns Tommy aka The Loveable Rogue) got me back on Tommy for a ride. I have always loved Tommy and had a great partnership with him, so it was such a joy to be back in the saddle (not so much the next day when I could hardly walk 😂)

Since then, I have just been riding Tommy twice a week, which has been really fun and been great to get my riding fitness back up and start playing with Dressage movements again. Tommy, who is a multi talented lad, has been doing quite a bit of jumping on his Dressage hiatus ( have thrown one of those pics in too- those knees right?? 😍)

Late last week, I saw that Kallista Field was up teaching in Karaka and we decided it’d be great to have a couple of lessons and get an assessment of where things are at and where we can go forward to. Well, was that ever a great decision!! The lessons were fabulous! Kallista really honed in on where we need to up our game and the result was a much more connected and powerful horse who felt amazing. Kallista was very complimentary about Tommy and his work ethic and potential. There are some very exciting plans forming in our future at this stage, so watch this space! 💫

I would like to thank everyone who has been so incredibly supportive over the last almost 2 years with everything our family has been through from the heartbreaking sadness with loosing Dad to the absolute joy of getting married. The journey life takes you on can be challenging at times, but what you make of the challenges and how you grow and learn from them, that ultimately creates the success and satisfaction in your life ❤️

Finally, I’d like to acknowledge all those amazing riders & Mum's who were a part of Team Beaumont for several years- It has been such a thrill seeing what you have all been doing last season! Special mention to Brina & Bella (who both train with Sheena Ross), congratulations on some very impressive results! I wish you all the very best for the new season that is kicking off now.

Thanks so much to you all for following this page, it will now be active again with updates so stay tuned 💙

It has taken me a while to be able to even write this post! And it is a long one so I apologise for this. The last year has been the most intense, heart breaking, eye opening and testing year I could have ever imagined. It has made me look very deeply at life’s goals, dreams and present reality. I was/am extremely fortunate to have the most amazing supportive parents any horsey girl could ask for. They did everything they could within their means to help me achieve my dreams- and my dream was to coach and train Dressage - especially young riders. I have always been so passionate about young riders being given the best start in their riding but also to feel supported as they move into the daunting world of Dressage competitions. Along this path, as Beaumont developed, I have been privileged to have met and worked with some absolutely amazing people. I worked my ass off to help wherever I could and that included some sacrifices in my own riding. I learned so much over this time and we regularly had to review how we were to move forward, as we all know it’s a tough, expensive sport/business. However, the last 12 ish months resulted in some devastating blows including loosing several horses and of course, the huge loss of my Dad last November. With the joy being sucked from horses in dealing with loss and heartbreak both from the horses themselves and Dad, we decided sadly that selling the property made sense. It’s a lot of work for us to manage and Mum and I didn’t want to continue on after everything that had happened. The property went unconditional on 14 November , the day before Dads anniversary. So, it is now the closing of this chapter as a rider and a coach. I am still struggling to come to terms with it all, but know when one door closes, another opens and will be focusing on the positives as we move on. There are too many people to name to thank personally, but you know who you are, and I am so grateful for everyone who has been a part of my riding life for the past 24 years but also who have been on the Beaumont journey- you girls/ladies have made me so incredibly proud and I am honoured to have had even a small role in shaping your riding careers. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all and wish all my past clients all the very best in their future training and competing. ❣️
