It’s always been a dream of mine to exhibit my work, and in particular ever since I learned of some years back, to exhibit my work as part of their festival.

So, you can imagine my delight and how thrilled I was, when I was approached and invited a few months back to exhibit by the organiser .

Having never exhibited before it’s been a massive learning curve and not everything has gone to plan or how I wanted or expected it too. But with the help, wisdom and advice of , and , it all came together in the nick of time!

And I’m so excited to be heading to Napier this weekend to see it in person myself!

I’m also giving a free talk at the CAN gallery on Saturday at 11am, a brief intro on my journey into pet photography, along with my top tips for dog photography and how to capture them at their best!

This will also be followed by a Q&A, where you can ask me anything you’d like to know about pet photography.

That evening I’m also running a photo walk at the Botanic Gardens which you can register for at Sony Scene.

The festival runs through until the 22nd October and there is an abundance of works to see by so many incredible photographers. So, check it out and get along if you can.

It’s that time of the year again, and I’m all set up and ready to go for the that kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 10th September at 10am.

It’s going to be a massive show this year with over 450+ exhibitors and a new outdoor garden showcase area.

I have so much to update you all on since I got back from Kando, aside from coming back sick, I’ve had a ton going on behind the scenes. Including being invited to exhibit at Fotofest in Napier from September (my first exhibition – so excited - but more on that later!), organising for the upcoming Waikato Home & Garden Show, Barking Mad Dog Markets and Events in Takapuna, and my first time having a stall at Barkfest in Cambridge.

And that’s just between now and October!

Along with our newest additions Wyatt the Chihuahua puppy and Leo, the baby lamb, whom I’ve been hand raising…

These were two of the set ups at Stanley Park, a medieval queen and a siren! The sets put together for us at Stanley Park were next level out of this world brilliant! I would do it all over again today if given the chance. It was an amazing experience and so much fun with all the different models and sets we were given in a stunning old mansion. The last is another of my favourite images from the sand dunes. Can’t wait to get home and edit some more images from this experience. And with that Kando is nearly over. Gone in a whirlwind but with memories to last forever. The privilege of being able to attend and to connect with my peers is the stuff dreams are made of. Roll on Kando 2026! Thanks Sony for another amazing experience.

And there were even dogs at Kando! Which absolutely was one of the best highlights for me, as those of you that know me will understand! And a snake! Fletcher and Tripp were the most amazing models and were more than happy to oblige with some poses in return for some chicken! And Stanley Park put on the most amazing sunset for which I was able to capture this incredible silhouette. The snake I captured earlier in the day at Hunter Wetlands. An incredible experience all around. Followed by our farewell dinner and some fireworks (check my stories out if you haven’t seen those!).

More favourite images from the sand dunes. The camels were just incredible to be around, so majestic. And being able to capture them amongst the stunning backdrop of the sand dunes with the incredible skies we were presented was amazing. And I even got to get up close and have a pat of Mr Pink (photo of that to come later!). A once in a lifetime experience!

Stockton Beach with the sand dunes were an incredible sight to witness. The sheer vastness of these dunes was next level and so breathtakingly beautiful. Being able to get outside my comfort zone, be creative and capture some images, all whilst making memories with friends who understand the passion for photography, is nothing short of amazing.

Breed of the Month - Cavoodle!

Each month, I’ll be selecting one breed and gifting three Farm or Studio Experiences to paw-rents of that breed. It’s my way of celebrating the incredible variety of dogs we share our lives with, and creating something meaningful within this beautiful community.

Did you know there are over 360 recognised dog breeds worldwide, with 224 recognised breeds in NZ? Every single one with their own quirks, personalities and loyal hearts, and we’re going to celebrate them, one month at a time.

This month, we’re celebrating the Cavoodle.

Playful, affectionate, clever and full of personality, Cavoodles have become such a loved breed in so many Kiwi homes. Whether they’re tearing around with zoomies, curled up beside their humans, or charming absolutely everyone they meet, they have a way of making themselves the centre of attention.

Anyone have a love/hate relationship with technology? Love when it’s working, hate when it’s not?

The beginning of March, just as I was launching my first ever Breed of the Month (BOTM) promo. I noticed my website running much slower than usual. After approaching IT support, I found out my website had been attacked by AI bots.

A growing trend that’s escalated the past year with all the AI tech now being developed. AI bots trawl websites for data and images so it can learn. My website had some protection, just not enough to cope with 170,000 AI bots trying to access it 24/7. That was in February alone!

With bots visiting my website at that rate, it slowed access almost to a halt for anyone else. So, to anyone who's tried to access my website and found it super slow or unable to access at all. This is why.

A fix was applied, which unknowingly at the time, broke my business email and stopped it working entirely, my IT support then became unavailable due unexpected circumstances. So, desperate to get things working again and with the "help" of ChatGPT, I lost my entire business mailbox for the last 2.5 years.

My host provider didn't have a full back up, which took several weeks to establish, nor did I, and I was not able to access email on desktop whilst investigated. I’ve been able to recover the majority of what I lost, through third party software. But months later, I’m still trying to sort things out.

I'm sure my hair has gotten a bit greyer, as there has been many a sleepless night.

Lesson learned on my part. The very hard way.

Hence the delay with the next BOTM, no point if no one could access. The website is much better under control with added protections, and hopefully a bit speedier.

So, here’s Kylo, one of the winners of my first ever BOTM for that indomitable little breed, the Chihuahua!

Check out the air action, he's flying! Kylo was an absolute superstar, enabling me to capture incredible memories for his dad, I can't wait to share more images from this session with you all.
