Te Kauwhata A&P 2025

Two days at our “local” A&P with Tegan & Mountbatten (Monty) in the pleasure horse section on the Saturday. Still plenty to work on, but so much better than the show before - they even finished with a strong 3rd in the registered Pleasure Horse Society class.

But the stars of the show were Ellie Pearce-morgan and her girls.

Waimai Royal Portrait (Lola) left the property for the first time to win her Section A mare class then taking home the Champion Purebred Adult. Lola is something special, such a sweetheart - time to get a saddle on her.

Waimai Spring Rose (Piper) also came along for experience and she won her yearling class, we are so impressed with her attitude on show day.

We can’t thank Ellie enough for all her work she has put into these ponies, and there’s more to come out 😍💖

Waimai PS Priscilla - available for show lease home

With so many mares in to show this season, and not enough float space, we have made the tough decision to allow for P to be made available to a show home.

P (S. Ascot Perlow, D. Nanteous Autumn Peach) is our gorgeous liver chestnut section A mare. She is 4, however she was a very late foal born in a cyclone (Feb). She is from extremely successful bloodlines with her dam winning HOY 3x in a row, she’s one for the show ring. Easy to catch, wash, float, stable, good with her feet and takeaway on her own. She is ready to be backed and would make a lovely little lead rein pony (her full brother was R/Up Welsh Lead Rein Pony of the year).

The home we are looking for is someone that would like to take her on long term, yes the show ring is where she succeeds but would love some variety in her life. Flick through the album to see some of her wins (with limited outings). The conditions would be that she must be insured and we would ask is that at the end of her show career - she comes home to Waimai.

We were lucky to have this type of agreement with Vanace Stud (Karen) when we took on our Treasure, she was part of the family for nearly a decade and would love to be able to offer something like this to P.

Clevedon A&P

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to Clevedon, and after registering Mountbatten (Monty) with the Pleasure Horse Society - Tegan wanted to give it a go. A tough (hot) old day with Monty not quite getting this showing thing but Tegan kept going and towards the end started to show some really nice work. They looked very smart all dolled up.

Waimai PS Priscilla (P/Cilla) went in the welsh classes and was expertly showed by Ellie. After a lovely first go-around, P decided it wasn’t her day. We have her sister to come out next, which we are really excited for.

Waikato A&P

Waimai PS Priscilla (Cilla/P) got to start her show season today. She’s got a lot of opinions and the goal was to get at least one good trot from her (she does this beautifully at home). She boogied and ended up winning her class, then took home Champion Adult Purebred Welsh 💖

To top it off, it was lovely to see Waimai Rocketman (owned by Kyrie & Samantha) work very nicely to win Reserve Champion Youngstock Purebred Welsh. We are so happy for you!

Our main man, Ascot Perlow, enjoying his semi-retirement out on the hills. Got to be proud of this old boy, multi supremes himself but sire to HOYS winners aswell. He’s now 27, but don’t tell him that - he still thinks he is only 5 😂

How is it show season already?!

We started the season by taking out our Hunter/Farm Hack out to the All Breeds Day hosted by the North Island Premier Showing Champs, and it was such a fun day out. Thank you the committee, stewards and judges!

Mountbatten (Monty) went and won Champion in the ‘everything in between’ ring, he hadn’t even had a halter on since we were in the UK.

He’s no world be**er, but he’s very special to Tegan and she is absolutely wrapped with our ‘pick n mix’ horse.
