The Palmerston & Waihemo A & P Association held its first show way back in 1866 in Waikouaiti and it alternated with Palmerston for a number of years. Membership: We would love to have you as a member for $10 a year. Please contact the secretary for further information. [email protected]

Our hard-working volunteers were devastated to discover that some of our sheep pen gates are missing from the Showgrounds. ⚠️

The gates were recently custom built for use at our show and have now been missing for a couple of weeks. They were removed from their posts using tools, so this was not simply a case of them being moved or misplaced. They are an important part of running our show, and replacing them creates an unnecessary cost and extra work for our volunteers.

Our showgrounds are an open public domain, with people regularly using the grounds for walking, running, exercising and other activities. Because of this, we’re hoping someone may have noticed something over the past few weeks without realising it was connected to the gates going missing.

If you have seen the gates, noticed anything unusual around the showgrounds, or have any information that may help us locate them, please get in touch with the committee.

We would be happy for the gates to simply be returned anonymously, with no questions asked. We would much rather have them back than see our volunteers face the cost and work of replacing them.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to our AGM today! 💚

It was great to get everyone together, reflect on the past year, celebrate the successes of our A&P, and look ahead to what's in store for the year ahead. It was also lovely having our Patron, Mayor Mel Taverndale, join us for the afternoon and be part of the day. We always love having you along!

There’s always plenty happening behind the scenes to keep our show running, and we’re so grateful to everyone who gives their time to make it all possible! 👏

A big congratulations to our newest Life Members — our President and Equestrian Convenor, Fiona Skevington, her husband Charlie, for the endless help and support he provides, and our former Trades Convenor, Keren MacKay.

All three have been involved with our A&P for many years and have given countless hours of their time, helping make our events what they are today. We truly couldn’t be prouder to have them as part of our A&P family! 💚👏

Here’s to another year of our A&P — we can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

🚗🏆 For those of you who have been wondering about our April Car Show results—thank you for your patience, and apologies for the delay!

Congratulations to everyone who took home an award, and a huge thank you to everyone who entered a vehicle, came along, and supported the event. Your support is what makes our Car Show such a great day for the community. ❤️

We hope to see you all back again next year with another fantastic lineup of vehicles! 🚘✨

Inviting everyone to attend our AGM 3pm 2 August 2026 at the Waihemo Lodge Palmerston.
Food and refreshments will be available after the meeting which should be short.
We are celebrating a successful year of showing and fund-raising with steady improvements to our Showgrounds planned.
