πŸ₯Ά This morning was so cold we caught a few dogs considering a career as indoor cats... πŸ˜‚β„οΈ
Don't worry thoughβ€”we've got them covered (literally)! 🩷 On those extra frosty mornings, we provide jackets for our daycare and boarding dogs so they can stay warm while still getting out to enjoy all the fun.
Safe to say the cold didn't stop the tail wags today! β˜€οΈ
Did you know we supply jackets for our daycare and boarding guests during winter? Because every dog deserves to stay warm while they're busy making memories with their best mates. πŸ’•

Hi everyone due to certain circumstances and some people who weren't totally honest with us Barney is still looking for his forever home.
Please make sure if you're wanting to adopt a dog from us make sure you are totally committed to what entails owning a dog as opposed to making a decision based on emotion, please make sure your whole family is on board when wanting to adopt a dog, regardless to where you get it from.
Read the post thoroughly before deciding to apply for a dog because the post will generally tell you exactly what type of home we are looking to meet the dogs requirements. Barney is a young active working breed and probably not suitable for elderly owners. He needs to be the only dog in the household and regardless of how good your dog is with other dogs Barney does need to be the only dog as he's not keen on sharing "his people" with another dog, he's good with cats and children etc just not another dog. Barney needs good quality excercise and to be kept relatively busy one short walk a day is nowhere near enough excercise for him, he's well behaved inside and he loves his crate because that's his safe place, he is housetrained and loves nothing more than to lie by your feet and loves snuggles.
We are very particular as to where our dogs are placed. We have a comprehensive adoption criteria and it's important we place our dogs with a family that meets that particular dogs requirements. What we NEVER do to the best of our ability is to set either the dog or new owners up to fail so if we don't accept an application for a dog there's always a very good reason for making that decision. I appreciate not everyone is happy with our decision but it is absolutely our responsibility to place dogs in appropriate homes,we don't work on a first come first served basis we try and match dog with owners to the best of our ability.
Sometimes we don't have any history on a dog, especially if it comes from the pound and no owners come forward so the dogs are placed in foster homes whereby the fosterer can slowly discover the dogs needs,ie; Are they friendly dogs that mix well with children, people they don't know, cats, other dogs etc also what their basic behaviour is like. A lot of careful work goes into each and every dog that comes into our care to ensure to the best of our ability that the dog we are rehoming is going to fit in well with their new owners and that people will trust that we are rehoming them a family pet not some poor dog that absolutely through no fault of their own has multiple behavioural issues that haven't been addressed and now those poor new owners have a real problem on their hands. So please try and understand why we are careful about where our dogs go to to continue their journey through life in a far better situation than they have come from, different dogs have different needs . To rehome an active, young working breed to a very elderly person would be ludicrous regardless of how "experienced" they claim to be! Now if the dog was 8-9 years old and loves a short walk every day but is happy to lounge in front of the fire all day it would be a different story and yes absolutely we would rehome it to an older person. So I reiterate please think VERY carefully about what you can offer the dog and whether or not you can fulfil its needs. I don't believe we ask anything that a good dog owner would do anyway. Sorry for the looong post but felt it necessary to explain why we ask what we do of new owners before homing a dog to them.
Blessings to all.
Lesley 😊
