Another hat on this week, as one of the vets working at the Kaimanawa Horse Muster. I’ve been a part of this for a number of years now as a member of the Advisory Group who oversees the management of the wild herd.

Some of you would hav met our awesome intern Jemma Fenton last season, she joined us after finishing her Veterinary degree in November and headed off to Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre in March for an 18 month internship.

Jemma graduated last week, we were so proud of her receiving her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Massey University after 5 years of hard work. To top it off she also received:

🐴 New Zealand Equine Veterinary Association Prize - Veterinary Science for the top student in 4th year Equine Studies

🐴 Kirsa Jensen Award for the top student in Equine in final year

🐴 ANZCVS Epidemiology Chapter Award for Excellence in Veterinary Epidemiology

When you do what you love, with staff as fabulous as this lot, you don’t think of it as work!

We celebrated the end of a whopper of a season last weekend with our amazing team with a weekend getaway to Taupo and Lake Ohakuri.

These talented, clever, driven people are the reason we can do what we love, and care for your precious mares and foals.

In no particular order big thanks to: Hayley Oldfield, Donna Aldridge, Olive Branch Equestrian, Jemma Fenton, Lilly Carpenter, Phoebe Macpherson, Miranda, Emily Carroll, Hutchings.

From night watch, to critical foal care, monitoring new babies, collecting stallions, helping breed mares, performing ICSI and ET, running the lab, processing and freezing semen, managing arrivals and departures, walking mares out for cover, ambulatory stud work, weaning, branding, admin, admin and more admin, these ladies do it all with a smile, and to a high standard!

Without them there would be no ERVC! Thank you to our fabulous team ❤️

And that’s a wrap on foaling for us!

Foaling Friday this week brings you one very classy filly by Buckingham.

Thank you to all of you who trusted us to care for your mares and foals this season. Every one of them is special to us and the buzz of welcoming new foals will never fade!

We are already booking up for next season already 😮 so send those contracts back in ASAP to avoid missing out.
