Meet Mika
4 months
Mixed breed (we were told her mum was a staffy x boxer)
A few weeks ago, Mika was found wandering and was returned home after her owners saw our post.
Just nine days later, she was wandering again and had returned to the same house she went to the first time. But this time, when we picked her up, something had changed.
She was no longer her bubbly self. She was head shy, had a couple of minor cuts on her, and seemed much more sensitive than before.
We messaged her owners as soon as we heard she was roaming again, but didn’t receive a reply until two days later. They said they hadn’t realised she was missing and made the decision to surrender her into our care.
After a couple of days with us, we started to see her happy, playful side coming back through again.
Mika isn’t a bad dog. She just struggles with being left alone and is happiest when she’s close to her people.
She’s good with our dogs and cats. She’s playful and wants to interact with the cats, but she’s also incredibly gentle with them and loves giving them little licks and kisses.
Mika is looking for a family where she will be a loved family pet, who sleeps inside and won’t be left alone for long periods. Especially in the beginning. She can be left for longer periods over time we think if she has enrichment toys/activities or the company of another dog.
She needs good fences that she can't jump over. She is seeking comfort and companionship not escape we feel.
Mika is crate trained, has had her 1st vaccination, microchip (registered on NZCAR), is up to date with flea and worm treatment.
Adoption fee and Desexing contract apply
If you think you could offer Mika that kind of environment, feel free to reach out.
