Sierra Leone (aka Nelly) finally gets the job done!

With 13 starts and 8 placings, she has always shown the ability — and today she proved it. She deserves the belief the team has always had in her.

We couldn’t be happier for this filly. She does nothing wrong, gives her all every time, and today she got her head in front where it counts!

Congratulations to Simon, Sam and Noel for their continued support and patience — it makes wins like this even sweeter.
Also Thanks to Kelly Myers who rode her a treat!

We are extremely sad to see De Armas leave us. She has set the standard in our stable and raised the bar for what we strive to achieve. We are incredibly grateful to have had her in the stable and for the unforgettable ride of success she provided us.

We wish her owners all the very best for the future. We will be following her journey closely and hope she goes on to achieve great success in Australia.

Lining up in R2 at Otaki on Sunday, Benner Racing 's Sierra Leone (NZ) is the sole galloper in with the chance of winning the $25,000 bonus for connections.💰

Comprised of 40 non-Saturday maiden races located throughout New Zealand, a $25,000 bonus is struck if a Karaka Millions eligible horse, three years or older, wins. The winning owner takes home $20,000 and the successful trainer $5,000.

The next opportunity will be Wednesday, 11 February at Te Aroha over 1200m, followed by Wednesday, 18 February at Riccarton over 2000m. 🏇

We are incredibly proud of the outstanding performances delivered by De Armas and Butler Cabin this past Saturday. Despite the challenges posed by a slow tempo and average gates, both horses demonstrated remarkable resilience and secured impressive 4th and 5th places.

A huge congratulations to the entire team for their tremendous effort in getting them race-ready. Special thanks go to Claudia, Dylan, and Brandon, whose dedication and support were invaluable. Both horses looked fantastic, and your hard work truly paid off. You should all be very proud. It was a great day! Onwards and upwards Team! 💪🏻
