🐴 EXCITING RIDING OPPORTUNITIES AT KARANGANUI LODGE that may interest you or someone you know! 🐴

For the first time ever, we are delighted to offer two riding opportunities for young riders wanting to experience the fun, excitement and enjoyment of the show ring!

🌟 LEAD REIN RIDER
We are looking for a little rider aged 5–8 years to enjoy the wonderful experience of riding one of our beautiful ponies in the lead rein classes.

🌟 NOVICE TO OPEN RIDER
We are also offering an opportunity for a young rider under 18 years of age to ride and compete in novice through to open classes at A&P shows.

🐎 Come along, meet our ponies and have some fun in the show ring!

At Karanganui Lodge, we pride ourselves on our beautiful ponies, thoughtfully bred for the show ring and proudly presented at A&P shows throughout the North Island.

We love seeing young riders grow in confidence, develop their skills and enjoy the special partnership between pony and rider. Whether you’re just starting your show-ring journey or ready to take the next step, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

✨ Two exciting opportunities. Beautiful ponies. Wonderful memories waiting to be made.

In light of the considerable interest in Royalwood Rossini progeny, I will start introducing them over the next few weeks.

Consider KL RoyalTea aka Gossip Girl, whose dam is KL Tea Party (SOD Royalwood Boy Soprano) & Royalwood Rossini is her sire. A progeny of.

Notably, Gossip Girl is double-bred to Royalwood Merry Music. Like her great-grandmother, she possesses an exotic presence and elegant movement, complemented by a beautiful temperament.

We are very delighted with our breeding program πŸ¦„

Karanganui Lodge have on offer some exquisite youngstock waiting for their future homes. I thought it was time to start introducing them.

Here we have -
KL Boy George
Royalwood Rossini x RT Sound of Music 🎢 featuring as our 1st poster boy.

He is a yearling. In this little package, he carries some graceful bloodlines, being double bred to the phenomenon grandmare Merry music 🎢

this is one to store away in the back paddocks or enter the show ring for led classes.

Reflecting over the past few months here at Stud comes with mix emotions of highs and lows with show prep, foaling, breeding, mares coming/going and to top it off a hip operation chucked in the mix just to blow things up a little.

We have made it to this side of Christmas πŸŽ… 🀢 with only having 5 more sleeps to go.

From the breeding corner: This made my heart cry this season - Breeding isn’t for everyone and at times it has seen me question πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ why do i do it to myself and my beloved mare. Something that was started a little over two seasons ago, she now has contentment of being a mum. This shows right here in these pictures πŸ¦„πŸ’–

KL Music 🎢 from above lost her 1st baby two years ago having presented a DOA ( alot of questions and having no answers). God had bigger plans and baby was far to gorgeous for this world. She went 5 weeks over her due date. I think these are the hardest and the least talked about in breeding because of having all our emotions tied up with each breeding not to mention the ever increasing costs to breed. When our beloved mare losses her baby we acknowledge her pain and loss, as painful as it is, we are left to just watch her greive for her baby unable to help her through her process. Although horses can’t talk you feel the presence of her pain. watching aimlessly as your mare keeps going back to her baby to get it up until she registers baby’s not going too come run with you today or tomorrow.

It was time to give her a 2nd go as she kept admiring the other babies as the arrived over the past few seasons. It didnt come without its streeses i can tell you. Yes she had us all stressed at stud again as she past her due date again 🫣 two weeks over due and we have a healthy wee lad. She can now know what it’s like to be a real mum feeding her wee man and that comes anyway he likes it lol (see photos) πŸ˜‚ 🀣🀣🀣🀣

KL Team said our sweet good byes to KL Sydney Harbour the other day. It’s with great pleasure to welcome The Tunnicliffe family into team KL. They welcome Sydney aboard their team, having some very excited girls to peer up with πŸ’™πŸ¦„ him.

We are excitement to see what the future holds for you all. Sydney is an exceptional type, awesome temperament with movement to die for πŸ’™ photos just don’t do him justice at all.

we look forward to the up dates of your journey with him πŸ’™πŸ™
