A lucrative weekend for connections of Carlaw Park graduates headlined by progressive speedster Lightness Of Music (pictured as a yearling) kicking off the HKJC Racing Sports season in style yesterday taking out the second on the card for trainer Danny Shum and rider Zac Purton at Sha Tin - his second in Hong Kong.

Lightness of Music was purchased by Wexford Stables from the 2023 Karaka Yearling Sale for $50,000.

On the home front saw the lightly tried future stayer Ryder's Legacy (pictured as a Yearling) also claim his second career win, from only six outings, taking out the Rating 65 event over 1800m for trainer Alan Sharrock and rider Kelly Myers at Taranaki on Saturday.

Ryders Legacy was purchased by Matthew Corban's Inspire Racing - who is enjoying a purple patch of form with selected yealrings - for $100,000 from the 2024 NZB Karaka Yealring Sale.

Lastly, Australian Group winning graduate Public Attention (pictured as a yearling) also kicked off his Hong Kong season with a strong second placing in the last at Sha Tin last night.

The grandson of history making filly, Katie Lee, Public Attention has been ever consistent since commencing his Hong Kong career, and a win is near for the 2023 Karaka Yealring Graduate.

Public Attention was purchased by Tom Magnier Coolmore Stud for $160,000 and was bred by the late Sir Patrick and Lady Justine Hogan.

Savvy Diamond (pictured as yearling) made the perfect start to her racing career today when taking out the first on the card - a maiden event over 1100m - at Goluburn.

Off the back of a winning trial at Rosehill, the G*i Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained galloper took advantage of her ace barrier draw, and despite being taken on throughout, the now 3YO daughter by Savabeel found another gear in the concluding stages to win by a length.

Beating a small but select field, the Carlaw Park New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka yearling graduate looks to have plenty in store and is an exciting prospect going forward as she develops.

Savvy Diamond was purchased by G*i Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing and Kestrel Thoroughbreds for $300,000 at the 2025 Book 1 Karaka Yealring Sale from the Carlaw Park draft.

A$100,000 Super Maiden Victory For Carlaw Graduate Crown Of Fire!

After pleasing with her recent debut fourth at Sandown, trainer Ciaron Maher sent his 2YO Too Darn Hot filly, Crown Of Fire (pictured), north for her second start, capturing the lucrative A$100,000 Robrick Lodge Handicap (1550m) on the Kensington track on yesterday.

"It was just basically all on ability, because it's not that long a turnaround (between runs). Especially with the trip up as well, we didn't have a lot of time. So, you can see she's basically done that just on raw ability, but no, it was a good result," said Maher.

Ridden by Tim Clark, Crown Of Fire had taken much improvement from her first outing and handled the quick back up with class - despite illustrating signs of greeness and racing against older horses - further vindicating the quality of the win.

Purchased for $250,000 by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock from the draft of Carlaw Park at the 2025 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 Sale, sold on behalf of Sunlight Trust, Crown Of Fire is the first runner, and winner out of the imported Siyouni mare Princess Siyouni, a half-sister to Listed winner Frenzified.

Congratulations to all connections!

Great to see New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka yearling graduate Beavertown Lass break through for a well deserved victory when taking out race 3 on the card at Otaki today - dominating her rivals by more than 10 lengths.

Beavertown Lass was bred by the late Sir Patrick Hogan & Lady Justine Hogan and was purchased at the 2022 Karaka Yearling Sales by her trainer Adrian Bull for $160,000.

Beavertown Lass is by the late great Savabeel and derives from the influential Eight Carat family. Beavertown Lass is from the Cape Blanco mare Diamaint making her a three-quarter sister in blood to 2018-19 Joint NZB filly of the year Queen Of Diamonds.

Congratulations to all connections!
