This Little Blue penguin was brought into the clinic after being found in a backyard football net. The team carefully removed the netting and freed the little guy. DOC then transported him back to a safe location near the coast. Thank you to the father & son team who brought him in.

Dolce comes in every month for her Osteoarthritis management, she is proof that with the right care, our pets can live comfortably well into their senior years.

Osteoarthritis is one of the most common conditions we see in both dogs and cats, and one of the most under-recognised.

Animals are hardwired to hide pain, so by the time most owners notice something's off, the condition has often been building for a while.

As we head into the colder months, pain tends to flare as cold temperatures stiffen joints, and less activity makes it worse. Now is a great time to check in on your older pets and even some younger dogs (Labradors and German Shepherds).

Signs to watch for include stiffness after rest, reluctance to jump or climb stairs, and generally being a bit quieter or more withdrawn than usual. Cats especially are masters of suffering in silence.

If any of that sounds familiar, we'd love to see you. Early management makes a real difference.

Happy long weekend community! We are closed Monday 1st June for the Kings Birthday public holiday.

However you celebrate, honouring King Charles or bowing to the benevolent fluffy ruler of your own home, we hope it is a good one.

If you have an emergency, our After Hours Clinic is always open for you. 🐾 Just give us a call - and no, fleas do not count as an emergency, just FYI 😅

Sunday shoutout to the one and only Lara 🌟

Our incredible lead nurse who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Her dedication, efficiency, and warmth make our team stronger every single day.

We genuinely don't know what we'd do without her.

Here's to you, Lara! 💙
