Dolce comes in every month for her Osteoarthritis management, she is proof that with the right care, our pets can live comfortably well into their senior years.
Osteoarthritis is one of the most common conditions we see in both dogs and cats, and one of the most under-recognised.
Animals are hardwired to hide pain, so by the time most owners notice something's off, the condition has often been building for a while.
As we head into the colder months, pain tends to flare as cold temperatures stiffen joints, and less activity makes it worse. Now is a great time to check in on your older pets and even some younger dogs (Labradors and German Shepherds).
Signs to watch for include stiffness after rest, reluctance to jump or climb stairs, and generally being a bit quieter or more withdrawn than usual. Cats especially are masters of suffering in silence.
If any of that sounds familiar, we'd love to see you. Early management makes a real difference.
