Shadow Update 🐾❤️

We love receiving happy updates from our adopted dogs, and Shadow is doing wonderfully in her new home!

Shadow has settled in beautifully and is enjoying life with her new family. One of her favourite activities is heading out for runs up the Grampians, where she gets to stretch her legs and enjoy plenty of adventure.

Her new owners say they feel absolutely lucky to have rehomed her and couldn't be happier with how well she has fitted into their family. Looking at her relaxing in her comfy bed at home, it's clear that Shadow has landed exactly where she belongs.

Thank you to Shadow's new family for giving her such a loving home. Stories like this make all the hard work worthwhile. 🐕💕

+++ Why Dogs End up in the Pound +++

Not every dog that arrives at The Tasman Dog Pound is abandoned. Many are simply lost, frightened or have slipped out of their yard. Here are the most common reasons dogs end up with us:

- Escaping during storms - loud weather can panic even the calmest pets
- Unsecured gates or fences
- No ID - making it hard to contact owners
- New pets exploring their surroundings

Our goal is to always reunite first. With a microchip and up-to-date registration, most dogs are home within hours.
