Sipping tea & knitting wooly socks by the fire. Heavily procrastinating the fact I have to put on my wet weather gear & pick orders in the rain for the rest of my Sunday for my lovely florists southbound 🌿

Rainy day and my tinctures are ready to bottle. 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿

We haven't had a flu, since, well "covid" flu many moons ago. Barely get a sniffle (fingers crossed 🤞) and I put it down to medicinal herbs I grow and preserve for their medicinal qualities.

Its not until you see it in action, you really believe it. I have cured some nasty nasty infections and wounds on friends and family the antibiotics couldn't shift. In saying that, I truly believe allopathic medicine is vital and so valued, but its a nice feeling to have your family's health sorted and the tincture cabinet full.

Plus the 🔥 fire cider is ready 🙌 (my kids don't love the flavour, I actually kinda like it 😅 but it works!)

Grow food

Nourish your family. Teach your kids how to sow seeds, about plants, insects. Give them the knowledge to know how to create a thriving garden. Teach them to fish, and hunt, and fillet that fish, and gift produce.

We found a beautiful red admiral butterfly 🦋 yesterday. I don't have a picture as we enjoyed the moment too much to break out the device and capture it.
These rare beauties thrive on Nettle plants. Most people spray out Nettle. These butterflies are now rare in NZ, but named insect of the year in 2024.

We are harvesting our king stropharia mushrooms I posted about a few months ago, when I first innoculated a patch in our vege garden. There is more coming on every day.
Large dinner plate in photos. These big boys are huge and delicious 😋

The late summer garden is thriving and the winter crops are in.

I feel very humbled and blimmin exhausted most days as I process the harvests for our winter food.
But mostly
I feel totally blown away by nature, and full of gratitude for this little slice of earth i get to caretake 🍃 🍂 ☘️ 🍁 🍀 🌿
