Rainy day and my tinctures are ready to bottle. 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿

We haven't had a flu, since, well "covid" flu many moons ago. Barely get a sniffle (fingers crossed 🀞) and I put it down to medicinal herbs I grow and preserve for their medicinal qualities.

Its not until you see it in action, you really believe it. I have cured some nasty nasty infections and wounds on friends and family the antibiotics couldn't shift. In saying that, I truly believe allopathic medicine is vital and so valued, but its a nice feeling to have your family's health sorted and the tincture cabinet full.

Plus the πŸ”₯ fire cider is ready πŸ™Œ (my kids don't love the flavour, I actually kinda like it πŸ˜… but it works!)

Day 2 of the ferment. Yikes! Pleased i didn't use glass on these ones

(Sorry about my dog barking in background)

Grow food

Nourish your family. Teach your kids how to sow seeds, about plants, insects. Give them the knowledge to know how to create a thriving garden. Teach them to fish, and hunt, and fillet that fish, and gift produce.

We found a beautiful red admiral butterfly πŸ¦‹ yesterday. I don't have a picture as we enjoyed the moment too much to break out the device and capture it.
These rare beauties thrive on Nettle plants. Most people spray out Nettle. These butterflies are now rare in NZ, but named insect of the year in 2024.

We are harvesting our king stropharia mushrooms I posted about a few months ago, when I first innoculated a patch in our vege garden. There is more coming on every day.
Large dinner plate in photos. These big boys are huge and delicious πŸ˜‹

The late summer garden is thriving and the winter crops are in.

I feel very humbled and blimmin exhausted most days as I process the harvests for our winter food.
But mostly
I feel totally blown away by nature, and full of gratitude for this little slice of earth i get to caretake πŸƒ πŸ‚ ☘️ 🍁 πŸ€ 🌿

When life (and the weather 🌧) gives you lots of second grade boysenberries......you make liqueur ❀️

We made litres of this delicious treat to gift and as a winter tipple. It is like a glass of boozy liquid summer boysenberries in a glass.
There is also a alcohol free version.

Now is the time to come buy your seconds. Fresh is best, you can't make this from frozen berries due to the water content....and we can provide a recipe that ANYONE can make in a few days.

We can also provide a recipe for a super health giving boysenberry elixir which is equally spectacular with our beautiful organic berries.

$14 kilo
These will only be around for a few days

Open for freshly picked boysenberries today ❀️

The cooler temps has meant slower ripening.....

We will honor all existing orders 21/23/24th leading up to Christmas, but there will be limited extra family punnets available

Mother nature holds the cards!

We feel our berries are super affordable, for an organic option ❀️ at $15 a family size punnet.
If you can't afford this, talk to us, and we can provide a smaller punnet, rather than just taking them :(
We work really hard to bring a beautiful healthy option that is free from chemicals, and would love this energy returned in payment πŸ˜€ thanks

A year ago we had to fell a lovely Oak that was causing safety issues on the farm 🌳

Today I received a beautiful unexpected gift from a very clever friend, who turned the Oak into something I will really cherish.....
A friendship that has seen many of life's trials, but like the Oak, sturdy and something to be treasured.

With a full heart ❀️ from this gift ~ I will have a small peice of this beautiful tree as pride of place on my table for many years.

& Some friends are just truly wonderful 🌟

Boysenberry season is nearly upon us πŸ’œ

This year we have really focused on bringing you all the beautiful berries ~ the crop is looking sensational πŸ‘Œ The 🐝 bees and bumbles are going crazy, and we have the strongest fruit set yet.

Tis been a challenging year weather wise, but nature is the boss, and we have worked hard with her to nurture our crop as organically as possible, bringing a health giving treat without all the nasties. This approach seems to be working 🌟

The shop will be open with delicious Boysenberries from mid December onwards (watch this space)

We have made the decision not to run the real fruit ice cream shop this season. It has been a heart centered decision to prioritize family this summer β˜€οΈ Our 4 kids are growing faster than we can scoop ice cream, and we want to have a summer 🐟 ⛺️ 🌊 with them, especially before the 2 oldest fly the coop! .....it will be the first in many years 😊
& as my wonderful late dad always said "you can always make more money; but you can't make more time"

Look forward to seeing you all soon with some tasty summer berries ❣️
