Happy International Dog Day 2026!

Today's celebration was founded in 2004 to raise awareness about support for shelter dogs or abused and abandoned dogs.

Ways to celebrate:
🐾Take your pup for an extra long walk, give a treat or toy.
🦴 Donate money or food to a dog shelter or lend a helping hand.
🐶 Share photos of your pet and include hashtag internationaldogday.

It was a beautiful morning at the Dog Farm! We spent some time digging out any thistles that were starting to sprout and dropped off a few extra dog toys. 🌱🐕🐾🥎

Did you know that 10 minutes of sniffing provides your dog an equivalent level of mental exhaustion when compared to 1 hour of physical exhaustion e.g. running. Sniffing requires intense brainpower as dogs process complex scents.

Good morning everyone,
As a friendly Friday reminder to please make sure when you are visiting the dog farm to park in the gravel spot in front of the park (in front of the dog farm sign) and NOT on the grass verge to the left of the driveway or covering the driveway as it is a shared driveway. Many thanks in advance and have a lovely weekend !

***UPDATE***

Good evening everyone,
We are full swing into autumn and it has been getting darker a lot earlier in the evenings. Therefore, we have decided to remove the 5:30pm - 6:30pm timeslot and will be reassessed in spring.
Happy dog walking!🐶🐾🍂🍁

We hope everyone enjoyed time with their pets today while the sun was still shining. Looks like we are in a state of emergency here now in Hawkesbay. Stay safe everyone!
