✨ Celebrating 10 Years of Veronika at Vet Services HB! ✨

Earlier this month, we celebrated a special milestone for one of our true veterinary legends – Veronika Pipe 🐾

Veronika has been an incredible part of our team since 2016, bringing passion, energy, and dedication to both her work and our people every single day. As our Companion Animal Group Lead, she’s helped shape not only our team but also our brand-new Napier clinic — with invaluable input into its design and functionality.

Originally from the Czech Republic, Veronika made Aotearoa home in 2005 before moving to Hawke’s Bay with her husband Johnny and their two boys. She continues to grow her expertise, completing her Masters of Veterinary Medicine in ultrasonography in 2021, while also nurturing her passion for small mammal care.

We’re so lucky to have this driven, unique, and downright awesome human on our team — and even luckier that Napier gets to experience her magic most days 💙

A young black and white stray cat was brought into our Napier clinic after a suspected road accident over the weekend. Sadly, they had already passed away.

No microchip was found, and they appear to be around 5 months old. They were found on Kennedy Road.

We are holding them at the clinic for 7 days in case an owner comes forward.

Gorgeous Rupert recently underwent an excap surgery with Sharne — and we’re pleased to report he was the perfect patient from start to finish!

An extracapsular repair is a common orthopaedic knee surgery in dogs used to stabilise the knee after a ligament injury (a bit like an ACL in people), helping reduce pain and get dogs back on their feet again.

Rupert is recovering really well thanks to the amazing care he’s been getting at home from Susan and Kerrie 💙

It’s always a team effort — and Rupert’s got a pretty great one behind him!

Another great success story 🐾

Richie the greyhound came to see us after weeks of ongoing lameness that hadn’t been able to be resolved.

On assessment, we discovered the cause — a painful corn, which is actually quite common in greyhounds and can make every step uncomfortable.

Richie underwent a simple tendonotomy procedure, and the results speak for themselves… back to full-speed zoomies in under 2 weeks! 💨🐕
