Get ready for an afternoon of colour, fun, and community spirit while supporting the incredible work of the Cancer Society.

Meet Loco 🐶

At just 8 weeks old, Loco spent time in our Napier clinic after contracting parvovirus. He spent time in our isolation ward receiving intensive care from our amazing nursing team, including nurse Mads, who helped look after him throughout his recovery.

Fast forward to today, and Loco was back for his vaccination and recheck. The best part? He recognised Mads and ran straight over for a cuddle! 🥹

Seeing Loco healthy, happy, and thriving is the best reward, and we're pretty sure Mads enjoyed the reunion just as much as he did!

Vet Nurse Awareness Week Challenge! 🐬

Things got a little noisy in clinic this week as Head Nurse MJ put the team through the Dolphin Training Game!

Mads was sent out of the room while the team chose a nursing-related task. Her mission? Figure out what she needed to do using only the sounds and reactions from the group as guidance.

There was plenty of confusion, lots of laughter, and more than a little noise, but it was all part of the fun as we celebrated our amazing nursing team during Vet Nurse Awareness Week. ✨🐾

✨ Vet Nurse Awareness Week! ✨

This week we're celebrating the incredible veterinary nurses and technicians who provide exceptional medical, surgical, and emotional care to our patients every single day. ❤️

From preparing patients for surgery and monitoring anaesthetics, to emergency triage, intensive inpatient care, administering medications, placing IV catheters into tiny veins, collecting blood samples, running laboratory tests, assisting with diagnostic X-rays, supporting our vets, and comforting clients, their skills and dedication are at the heart of everything we do.

They're often the first to greet a worried client, the last to check on a recovering patient, and the friendly faces keeping our clinic running smoothly behind the scenes.

This year's Vet Nurse Awareness Week theme is Powered by Passion, and our Napier nursing team certainly lives that every day! 🐾💙
