Celebrating the adorable, clever, big‑hearted corgis we see in the clinic.

Fun fact: Corgis have double coats, which help regulate their temperature — meaning they shed more than you’d ever expect from such a small dog.

Hello humans, Gordon here! 🐾

With King’s Birthday weekend ahead of us, it feels only right to acknowledge the most influential ruler of many households… the loyal dog 🐶

From what I can tell, dogs are managing day-to-day affairs quite effectively 🧐 Walks, meals, and sleeping arrangements are all made with our preferences in mind. Take me for instance. I'm about to share a floofin' puppaccino with my human!

Which brings me to official royal business. Dog registration.

Last year, 184 dogs were reported lost in Napier. Registering us helps make sure we can be reunited with our humans faster, and with fewer tears (from you, not me, obviously 🐾).

👑🐾 KING’S BIRTHDAY HOURS 🐾👑

CareVets Napier will be closed on Monday 1st June for the public holiday.

But don’t worry — the royal team at Hawkes Bay Urgent Care & After Hours Veterinary Clinic will be on call all long weekend for any urgent or emergency care your pets may need.

Who could resist bunny cuddles? NOT US!

These adorable two-month-old rabbits came in for a quick gender check and cuddle.

We look forward to vaccinating them, and neutering them when they are a little older.
