Mt Somers Cattery Boutique country boarding cattery, individual indoor/outdoor rooms, run to British standards. Special diets can be catered for, and medication administered.

Mt Somers Boarding Cattery provides a professional, safe environment for your pet, in a quiet, rural setting just off Thompsons Track. Offering a personal service, your cat will have its own room with an insulated indoor retreat and a heated bed, plus an exercise area overlooking the gardens or countryside. Each room offers five square metres, able to accommodate a three-cat family. We have a range of quality wet and dry food available, including red meat, or bring your own if you prefer. We limit numbers to 15, to minimise stress on the cats and to enable each cat regular time to interact with us in the large internal exercise area – complete with equipment to encourage climbing, scratching and play. Vaccinations and flea and worm treatments must be current. Male cats must be neutered. Pet travel crates available by arrangement. Dear Friends and Guests of Mt Somers Cattery.

Due to changing dynamics of our lives, we are sad to inform you all, that Whare Iti Boarding cattery has closed as the property has recently been sold.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your fantastic support and privilege of taking care of your beautiful cats. It has been such a treat to meet you all and to get to know you all.

Since the re-opening of Mt Somers Cattery on 29 August 2018, we have enjoyed the company of our furry guests. Tigger, Sandy, Henry, Kitty, Shadow, Meg And Sam to name a few. Can you believe it? Three months ago we were preparing for our first guest and the Cattery has received some bookings for December and January too.
It is a very hectic time of the year as we all want to get so much done. Booking the stay early for your furry friend will put your mind at ease.
We are looking forward to catching up with you all before you go on holiday.
A reminder to have your pets vaccinated. They must be fixed/neutered.

Hello everyone. We would like to introduce you to Meg. Meg is our first resident since the re-opening of Mount Somers Whare Iti Boarding Cattery. She is very excited to see us on every visit during the day as she gets spoilt to a soothing coat brush and attention. Not very easy to take pictures as she does not stay in one spot long. Just after cuddles and a good brush.

Hi Everyone. There has been an unexpected delay. There is a fault on the landline which should be sorted by this evening. We are still sorting things out as we go along and we are pleased to announce we can start taking bookings. Our first guest Meg is arriving Thursday.
Please note that the price has changed from $12 to $15 per day. Please feel free to private message us for booking dates and we will get back to you. Your 10th day is free.
