We're looking for an experienced vet nurse to join our team at Paddock Vets in Methven while one of our team heads off on maternity leave (up to 12 months). This could become a permanent role for the right candidate.
We're a friendly, easy-going mixed practice with 8 vets, working out of a purpose-built clinic right in the middle of town. The small animal side of the clinic is busy and well equipped, so no two days are the same.

Vet Nurse / Reception & Admin – Maternity Cover (12 Months)

We’re looking for an experienced vet nurse to join our team at Paddock Vets in Methven while one of our team heads off on maternity leave (up to 12 months).

We’re a friendly, easy-going mixed practice with 8 vets, working out of a purpose-built clinic right in the middle of town. The small animal side of the clinic is busy and well equipped, so no two days are the same.

The role

This is a varied role — you’ll be doing hands-on small animal nursing as well as helping out on reception and with admin when needed. It suits someone who likes a mix of clinical work and client interaction, and enjoys being part of a team.

You’ll need:
• 2–3+ years’ nursing experience
• Confidence with all aspects of vet nursing, anaesthesia monitoring and inpatient care
• Good organisation and people skills
• A positive, get-stuck-in attitude

• Privately owned, independent practice
• Plenty of variety to keep things interesting
• Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (no weekends)
• Competitive salary dependant on experience

The Paddock Vets team traded the clinic for the great outdoors earlier this month! 🐾🌄

A few of our crew took on the Mount Somers Rogaine on March 14th — navigating hills, maps, and who knows what else along the way! 🗺️💪

Safe to say their teamwork extends well beyond the clinic.
Huge effort by everyone involved — what an epic day out! 👏

We are very sorry to share that a large ginger and white cat , has been bought into the clinic. There is no microchip , and the cat was found just south of Methven on the highway. Sadly he is now deceased.

She has no microchip.

Hi all, it must be the day for it today ....
DOG FOUND
A lovely liver/white, female spaniel has been brought in to the clinic. Not microchipped.
