FOR SALE - I'm very jealous of whoever snaps up this girl.. serious competition mount for the right rider ⭐️

Nellie
16.1hh | 9-year-old Thoroughbred mare by Niagara

Competitive, sharp, and willing to please, Nellie is the ultimate mare for someone looking to further produce their next superstar!

Off the track since she was a 2-year-old, Nellie has been brought on slowly and carefully. She's only recently begun her "sport horse" training over the past year. At just her third ever show, she jumped a clear round in the 90cm with ease and showed scope to spare. With more time and schooling, she would be right at home in the Amateur Rider classes.

Nellie continues to improve with every outing. She stands happily at the float, is a pleasure to ride on the flat, and is beginning to establish lateral movements. She has an exceptional brain, learns quickly, and has the potential to excel in any discipline. Naturally brave with fill and cross-country fences, she doesn’t bat an eye. A jump is a jump to Nellie! She shows excellent potential as an eventer.

She's great with dogs, motorbikes, and kids, shes often cooled down in the arena by my 1.5-year-old son on the lead rein. Good to float, shoe, handle, etc.

While Nellie is a truly exceptional mare, she is still green and will need a rider experienced with Thoroughbreds or young horses. She is not suitable as a first hack. Though confident in the arena and show ring, she can become nervous hacking out, especially in open spaces and when alone (she’s much better in warm-up areas or with a buddy). With time and trust, this is improving. However, we feel she would thrive best in a competitive home or with a confident rider who has company when hacking. Our dairy farm lifestyle just isn’t the right fit for her.

Best suited to a competitive teen or adult rider wanting a quality, well-started mare to produce further.

Anyone horse shopping??

Due to a change in work circumstances Nigels new owner is having to resell him 💔. Have a scroll down and you can see Nigel was a favorite around here.. super easy going and a genuine all rounder. Would be a good first hack for any of my kids looking to move up next season.. or I am accepting donations to buy him him back 😉

So it turns out the old man wasn't quite done yet...

For any of my long-time followers, you know I retired Lucky rougly 2 years ago... However, I just had a feeling he wasn't quite ready for the slow life JUST yet and brought him into light work a few months ago. Enter his new favorite person, Paige.

With the intention to "see how it would go," these two have just gone from strength to strength! Although he's a (little) bit more mellow in his older years, Lucky isn't always the easiest ride. But Paiges patience, willingness to learn, and adaptability as a rider has really shone through, leading to some pretty awesome results! Including:

🥇 Central Districts ODE, 65cm and best performed TB for the class. Video of their cracking XC below!
🥈&🥉 Horowhenua Dressage, ungraded level 0. This also resulted in them winning Reserve Champions for the day!
Represented Motua and Horowhenua Pony Clubs in Area Dressage, Melda Gibson Dressage, and Interbranch Showjumping. Each time providing good scores for their team. There's probably more, but it's been such a whirlwind that it's escaped me!

I still MUCH prefer my bum being in the saddle at competitions. Being the organiser/ groom is stressful! But it's been so cool to watch my special boy teach the next generation. Lucky you really are 1 in a million ❤️

Finally, the biggest thank you to Megan and Paige for taking such good care of him 🙌

What a busy few weeks! It's fair to say Feburary has started with a bang!

We started off with the HDG Summer Championship. This was Andy's first show! He impressed us all with his cool attitude, both judges commenting on his potential! He had a huge improvement between his tests and even finished the day with a 65.33% and 4th place. I couldn't be happier! ⭐️

Lucky also came out of semi retirement. It's been about 3 years since the old man went to show, but it's fair to say he can still pull out the moves whe he needs 🕺. The biggest thank you to Paige Kernohan for giving him such a beautiful ride. They came home with second and third for their tests and reserve champions for the day!!

Thank you to the organisers at Horowhenua Dressage Group for hosting such a fantastic, well run day. Also, thank you to Murray Doreen - Property Brokers Ltd and Fran James Property Brokers for their sponsorship of the show! Finally, biggest thank you to Megan Kernohan for saving the day with transport, being groom and babysitter all day. Me, Paige and Harley would have been very stuck without you! 😅

I'll do a seperate post with some video but we also took Andy to Dragon Equestrian Jump Park for some cross country! Ofcourse he was a star ⭐️, he's growing into such a mulittalented boy. There will never be enough words for how greatful I am to his owner Debbie Trevethick for entrusting me with the ride. He really is special!

2025 is off to a great start! 🙌

Andy has started his jumping journey 🥳

Looks like he might have convinced his mum he’s worth holding onto by the look of those knees!

We kept it pretty short and basic as jumping is all about having fun at this stage, but our final fence definitely wasn’t small!

A huge thank you to Megan for letting us use your arena and jumps 🙌

Finally got my hands on a Pivo!! This awesome bit of tech records and tracks while you ride, removing the need for a second pair of hands to capture quality videos!

Me and technology are not friends so it’s taking me a few rides to get the hang of it… A missed a phone call meant I only recorded the first 10mins of my test ride 🤦‍♀️. I was guttered as Nero worked fantastic this day! Not the most exciting video in the world but you get the gist.

Having a Pivo is going to make sale videos and client updates soooo much easier! So you’ll be seeing a lot more of me on here 🥳
