Pancreatitis in Pets — Signs to Watch For 🐾

We’ve seen a few cases of pancreatitis recently, so this is a timely reminder for pet owners.

Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas and can become serious quickly. It can affect both dogs and cats, and the signs are not always obvious at first.

In some pets, pancreatitis can be triggered by rich or fatty foods — so it’s best to avoid giving table scraps, cooked fat, sausages, bacon, BBQ leftovers, or greasy treats.

If your pet is vomiting repeatedly, painful, not eating, or seems very unwell, please don’t wait. Early treatment and supportive care can make a big difference.
