Today I went way out of my comfort zone and went up to Outram for a western clinic.
Riding with a bunch of western riders who looked the part and knew what they were doing was very daunting.
But I'm desperate to learn and improve so ignored the nerves and got on with it!We have so far to go but we're better than a month ago which I'm really pleased with!

Remember how a few months ago I decided to get a western saddle from Nigel Cameron Western Saddlery?
Well today I went up to Balfour and met up with Nigel.
There's a 6 month wait list for his saddles as they are very sought after.
Nigel has started on the seat and I had a sit on it to make sure it fits me as well as Summer.
Then we discussed the decorative tooling ,seat covering, picked out the conchos and stirrup style.
Nigel is also making me a matching breastplate and bridle.
His partner Sonja is making me a mohair cinch to complete saddle.
So in 2 or 3 weeks I'll be able to show you the finished product!

You all know I'm obsessed with horses but my other obsession is tunnels!
Today we went to mosgiel to pick up some machinery Dave had bought and took the opportunity to walk the Wingatui Rail tunnel and the then went over the hill to Tunnel Beach.
Perfect weather and well worth the effort.

I love matching up ponies with the right child and aren't this combination just gorgeous!
Desert Stars Sparkle Light is a purebred Arabian mare who I absolutely adore.
I've matched her with her last 2 children and she's taught them so much.
Sparkles and Ella have only been together a few months but are absolutely perfect together.
I gifted them Charlie's special bridle which Sparkles is wearing in these lovely photos.
Charlie loved Sparkles and always whinnied to her when they met up.

Welly has an important announcement!
He's been working really hard on finalizing details of the Flying Horse Gypsy Cob show in December.
So here's where we're at:
Date: Sunday 20th December
Venue: Flying Horse Ltd, 79 Erskine Road Invercargill.
Judge: Julie Ann Baynes-White
The NZ Gypsy Cob Association are kindly supplying rosettes for Champion and Reserve in each section!
Flying Horse Ltd are supplying all the other ribbons but we would love to offer businesses the opportunity to supply products or vouchers for prizes.
