While bird flu (H5N1) has not been detected in the Waikato, it's important for all New Zealanders to know what to do if they come across a sick or dead wild bird.

If you see a bird:
❌ Don't touch or move it.
📞 Report it to MPI on 0800 80 99 66.
🐕 Keep pets, especially dogs, away from sick or dead birds.

If your pet has had contact with a sick or dead bird, please give your local CareVets clinic a call for advice before bringing them in.

This gorgeous little pup came in for her first puppy vaccination this week! 💛

Vaccinations are a vital part of keeping your puppy healthy and protected from serious diseases such as Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, and Kennel Cough. While your puppy may look happy and healthy, their immune system is still developing, making vaccinations an important step in giving them the best start in life 🐾

Remember, puppies need a series of vaccinations to ensure they are fully protected, followed by regular annual checkups throughout their lives 💛
