🐾💙 It's Vet Nurse Appreciation Week!! 🐾💙

Let's talk about the legends who keep this place running 💙🐾

Our vet nurses aren't just cuddle experts (although they're very good at that 🥰). They're highly skilled professionals who can:

🫀 Watch over every anaesthetic, beat by beat
💉 Find a vein on even the wriggliest patient
📸 Get the perfect x-ray (while somehow keeping the patient still 😅)
🦷 Turn plaque into pearly whites ✨
🔬 Run lab work faster than you can say "blood test"
🩹 Bandage like an artist and nurse patients back to health
🧮 Calculate drug doses with maths skills we're all jealous of
🏥 Care for our sickest patients with big hearts and steady hands

Basically: part scientist 🧪, part detective 🕵️‍♀️, part pet whisperer 🐶🐱, and 100% amazing 💯

To our wonderful nurses: thank you for everything you do, seen and unseen. The Vet House wouldn't be the same without you 🙌❤️

🌻 We’ve officially moved into our new abode! 🐾
We just couldn’t wait to get into the new space and start welcoming you all. There’s still a bit of landscaping to do, but the sunshine-yellow door to our boutique, modern, purpose-built hospital is open! 🌻⭐🐾

Just follow the signs at the Matangi Factory and look out for that pop of yellow – you can’t miss us. We’re cozied up next to our lovely new neighbours,

Found - Tauwhare Road area, Matangi/Tamahere 🐾

A very friendly cat was brought into us yesterday after being found around the Tauwhare Road area. He is in good condition, clearly used to people, and is being well cared for here.

If you think he might be yours, please contact us 07 829 5676. Proof of ownership will be required.

Big news from The Vet House… it’s our last week in our temporary home! 🐾🎉

It’s taken way longer than any of us expected to get the new clinic over the line, but the building crew and The Vet House team have been absolute legends the whole way through. We’ve dealt with delays, detours and all the classic “reno” plot twists, and somehow everyone has kept smiling (most of the time!).

This week we’re soaking up the final days in our little temporary building and getting ready to pack up the last of the boxes. Next Monday we get the keys to our shiny new clinic and we cannot wait to welcome you and your furry family into the new space.

Same Vet House, same love for your pets, just a brand new home across the carpark. 💛 Stay tuned for opening day pics and a sneak peek behind the scenes next week!

We’re fueled today by sprinkles, sugar and possibly one too many donuts… but we love any excuse for some treats!

👑 Kings Birthday Long Weekend 👑

We’re paws-ing this ANZAC weekend to remember the brave humans (and their loyal animal helpers) who have served. 🌺

The Vet House will be closed on Monday for the observed ANZAC Day public holiday, then back to our regular hours on Tuesday.

Hoppy Easter from The Vet House! 🐰💐

We’re taking a little Easter break, so the clinic will be closed from Good Friday through to Tuesday morning. We’ll be back bright and early 8am on Tuesday to see you and your furry family again 🐶🐱

Say hello to one very brave pup from The Vet House 🐾🦷

This dog was still eating and acting fairly normal – just a bit of smelly breath 🤢 and mild fussiness with food. Under anaesthetic, we discovered the dark hole went right into the nerve, which is extremely painful even if they don’t show it 😣

The tooth was carefully extracted, and the rest of the mouth cleaned ✨ They went home the same day and are already brighter and more comfortable 🥹❤️

Dogs are experts at hiding dental pain, so if you notice bad breath, chipped teeth or changes with eating, a dental check‑up is absolutely worth it ✅
