We’re paws-ing this ANZAC weekend to remember the brave humans (and their loyal animal helpers) who have served. 🌺

The Vet House will be closed on Monday for the observed ANZAC Day public holiday, then back to our regular hours on Tuesday.

Hoppy Easter from The Vet House! 🐰💐

We’re taking a little Easter break, so the clinic will be closed from Good Friday through to Tuesday morning. We’ll be back bright and early 8am on Tuesday to see you and your furry family again 🐶🐱

Say hello to one very brave pup from The Vet House 🐾🦷

This dog was still eating and acting fairly normal – just a bit of smelly breath 🤢 and mild fussiness with food. Under anaesthetic, we discovered the dark hole went right into the nerve, which is extremely painful even if they don’t show it 😣

The tooth was carefully extracted, and the rest of the mouth cleaned ✨ They went home the same day and are already brighter and more comfortable 🥹❤️

Dogs are experts at hiding dental pain, so if you notice bad breath, chipped teeth or changes with eating, a dental check‑up is absolutely worth it ✅

🌿 KARAKA SEASON IS HERE 🌿

Bright orange berries + curious pups = trouble! Karaka berries are highly toxic to dogs and can be fatal if eaten.

👀 Watch for these signs (can be delayed 24–48 hours after eating):

* Wobbly or weak back legs
* Vomiting or diarrhoea
* Confusion or “spaced out” behaviour
* Tremors, convulsions or seizures

🚨 What to do if you think your dog has eaten Karaka berries:

*Call us immediately – don’t wait for symptoms. Early treatment gives the best chance of recovery.
*Do NOT try to make your dog vomit at home. This can be dangerous.
*Bring a photo or sample of the berries/tree if it’s safe to do so.

🦴 How to keep your dog safe:

* Avoid areas with karaka trees from January–April.
* Keep dogs on-lead around known trees and stop ground-snacking.
* If you have karaka on your property, fence off the area or pick up fallen berries daily.

Hello 2026!! We’ve hit the ground running over the last couple of weeks!

From CT scans to kitten cuddles – it’s all in a day’s work at The Vet House 💛🐶🐱

Zazu came in for a CT 🧠 so we can get detailed images to guide his treatment, while two very cute kittens visited for their very first vaccines and lots of reassurance 🐾✨

From major diagnostics to milestone moments, the cases might be different but the goal stays the same: keeping your furry family happy, healthy, and in the best possible hands 🙌❤️

What a year! Our team has worked so hard, we’re bursting at the seams!
Our days have been packed with patients, and our hearts are even fuller thanks to all of you and your amazing pets. Thank you for trusting us with your furry, feathered and whiskered family members and for keeping our little clinic buzzing all year long.

Next year, we’re welcoming new team members and will be crossing the car park to our “big” clinic, so you’ll be seeing even more friendly faces, and we'll have so much more space for you and your pets. Things are getting very exciting just across the way, and we can’t wait to share the next chapter with you.

Here’s when we’ll be open over the holiday season - make sure to plan ahead for any food or medication pick-ups! 🐾✨
