Pixie is celebrating the Artemis 2 moon mission by wearing her space helmet.
Some small dogs like Pixie don't like their nails being cut and also resist muzzles being placed. So then they get the full NASA astronaut space helmet experience just like the crew of Artemis 2. We think Pixie let's her nails grow long because she likes the futuristic look.
To infinity and beyond!

Wishing all our furry friends and their caregivers a happy and safe Easter break.
Post a picture of your pet with their bunny ears on and we will get the best one an Easter gift.
Remember to watch out for those food focused dogs who like to pillage chocolate eggs this time of year when you are not watching.

Health warning placed on Lake Rotoroa (Hamilton Lake) due to Cyanobacteria (toxic algae).
National Public Health Service (NPHS) has issued a health warning for Lake Rotoroa (Hamilton Lake) due to a significant increase in cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria is sometimes referred to as toxic algae.

Health warnings remain in place for Lakes Rotokaeo (Forest Lake), Waahi, and Waikare.

Health risks

“Cyanobacteria (toxic algae) can cause a range of symptoms. These may include asthma or hayfever‑type reactions, skin rashes, and stomach upset. It can also cause effects such as tingling around the mouth, headaches, trouble breathing, or changes in vision” says Dr Kate Meerkerk, Medical Officer of Health. These symptoms may appear hours after contact with affected water.

Scums formed during cyanobacteria (toxic algae) blooms often contain very high concentrations of toxins. They may accumulate along shorelines and can look unusual or interesting, which can attract children and animals, especially dogs. Dogs are extremely sensitive to cyanobacteria (toxic algae). Do not allow them to swim in, drink, or eat anything from affected lakes, as it can make them very ill.

Although the weather doesn't support the fact we are in the middle of summer, the number of little kittens through the clinic does.

Don't you think Ash is a great name for this Silver British Shorthaired kitten who was a very very busy boy at his first visit?
