We have a big announcement to make!
It's time for MayBrook Kennels to become two separate kennels! Michelle and Wendy have decided that we have grown to the point that two separate kennels is the best way forward.
Michelle's dogs, Kya, Ruby, Axle, Opal, and Aria will form the beginning of Akora Kennels, and Wendy's dogs, Jade, Jasper, Starr, Saffi, and Petra will be the foundation dogs for Brookfields Kennels.
We would love for you to come with us on our new journeys, by liking and following our new pages; see both links below. We won't be adding any new posts here after today. 25-3-2022

The puppies are five weeks old today. Here’s their latest weekly photoshoot, as well as some more candid photos from the last week.

As you can see, they’ve all come out of their shells and are very playful and interactive. They have made great weight gains this week; little Light Blue (“Albie”) has pretty much caught up now!

The pigmentation has come out a lot in their noses now, and at this point it’s clear to us that all of (and only) the boys’ noses are brown. This indicates that, genetically, they are both red AND chocolate (like their dad Rohan). The choc colouring doesn’t affect the fur, but results in brown noses and lips, and amber or green eyes. It’s quite a unique and stunning look. All of the girls will carry chocolate (like their mum Ruby).

We still have two handsome pups available: Mr. Light Blue (“Albie”) and Mr. Dark Blue.

Given a clean bill of health and looking for his forever home.
Albie's (nickname for light blue / L.B. collar) story:

When Albie was born, he looked different from his littermates, he had a sore on his forehead and we discovered an open fontanelle. We had never seen this before so talked to our vet.
This can be a serious condition called hydrocephalus (water on the brain) or it can just be that the fontanelle has not yet closed as it should have before birth. Albie required suppliment feeding for the first 10 days or so of his life. Slowly over time the hole got smaller and smaller and Albie got stronger and stronger. He has kept up with his siblings in every respect, loves his food, plays with toys and his siblings, runs around and absolutely loves cuddles.

Today we took Albie to see our vet just to get him checked over and her opinion on Albie's future. We are so excited to say Albie has been given a clean bill of health, his fontanelle is expected to completely close within the next few weeks, and he is expected to live a normal, healthy, happy life.

These little cuties are four weeks old. Can’t believe half their time with us has already passed; time always flies with puppies!

They’ve gotten used to being outside now and are enjoying having more space to run around and play. They especially love their tunnel, which we often find them asleep inside. All are making good weight gains and seem to get cuter and cuter each day. 🥰❤️

You are the kindest, most gentle soul who loves everyone—human or dog. And everyone loves you back, because how can they not? You make us smile every day with your sweetness and silliness. You came into our lives unexpectedly, by opportunity, but we are grateful every day that we have you and wouldn't be without you. Not to mention you are a wonderful daddy to your puppies. Jade and Jasper's litter of 10 had their first Birthday today! And by the look of the photos and videos that have been shared, everyone has been thoroughly spoiled.
Jenna made 'ball mad' Chase a ball pit, Sofia made pup cakes for Kobe, who also decided to eat his hat after the photo shoot, Tash gave Astrid lots of presents, including a new bed which she promised not to chew to pieces this time. Koda sat very nicely for Zavanna's photo shoot.
Taylor, Nicki and Sofia took the brothers Kai, JJ and Kobe to the dog park in Plimmerton for a Birthday catch up, Melissa and family took Arlo to the beach, Timmy's family is spoiling Torvi and Luna scored a yummy treat.

These cutie-pies are three weeks old already. They’re walking around, they’ve started on solids, and they’re getting bigger and bigger every day. We’re starting to notice kinks in their fur—they’re on their way to becoming fluff-balls like their parents. Pups and Mum are continuing to do well. ❤️
