🦷 Dental Health- it matters more than you think!

A lot of people don’t realise that poor dental health in dogs is more than just “bad breath” — it can actually impact their overall health and comfort.

Plaque and tartar build-up can lead to:
❌ Bad breath
❌ Inflamed gums
❌ Pain while eating
❌ Loose or damaged teeth
❌ Infection and disease

Over time, severe dental disease can even affect major organs such as the heart and kidneys. I know right!!! Who would have thought, this is why it is so important to keep on top of their dental hygiene.

🐕 Signs your dog may have dental issues:

🦷 Yellow or brown tartar build-up
👃 Strong-smelling breath
🍖 Difficulty chewing or dropping food
😣 Red or bleeding gums
🐾 Pawing at the mouth

🪥 Prevention is key!

Regular dental care can make a huge difference, and because they lack the tools to hold the brush, we need to give them a helping hand.

🐾 Why is my dog so tired after grooming?

Ever picked up your dog from the groomer and they go straight to sleep? No your groomer hasn’t sedated them… well maybe with fun times and cuddles but it’s actually totally normal! Here’s why:

✨ 1. Mental stimulation
Grooming isn’t just a bath and haircut—it’s a whole experience! New sounds, smells, handling, and being in a different environment can be mentally tiring.

🛁 2. Physical effort
Standing for long periods, holding still, and being positioned during the groom uses muscles your dog doesn’t normally use.

✂️ 3. Handling & concentration
Your dog has to cooperate with brushing, clipping, nail trims, and ear cleaning. Even calm dogs are concentrating the whole time.

🐶 4. Emotional release
Some dogs feel a bit unsure or excited during grooming. Once they’re home and relaxed, they “crash” and catch up on rest.

💤 5. It’s like a big day out!
Think of it like a busy day for us—after lots of activity and stimulation, sleep helps them recover.

❤️ The good news?
A tired dog after grooming is usually a sign they’ve had a full, stimulating experience—and now they’re enjoying being clean, fresh, and comfortable!
