What a privilege it is to donate such a large sum to this cause! All thanks to the help from you all that back our event! We couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you!

On Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jude and Trev from the Southern Indoor Charity Dog Trial to Hospice South, where they presented us with an astonishing $30,000 raised through their recent event.

It was a privilege to show Trev and Jude around our facilities and share a little of the impact their generosity will have on the people and families we support. We are incredibly grateful to be the recipients of such kindness and community spirit.

Added to the occasion was the joy of meeting Trev's delightful dogs, Jess and Beau. As animal lovers, we were thrilled to welcome them to Hospice South. Fun fact: over the years, we've had all manner of animals visit loved ones here, including dogs, cats, and even a horse! These special visits bring comfort, connection, and plenty of smiles to patients, families, and staff alike.

Thank you to everyone involved in the Southern Indoor Charity Dog Trials for making this remarkable fundraising effort possible. Your support will make a real difference to the care we provide across our community.

From farm tracks and paddocks, from near and far,
Came dogs and their handlers, each one a star.
160-plus dogs took to the floor,
With grit, heart and talent — and plenty more!

Over 80 sponsors from throughout Southland came through,
With generous support and a vision to do
Something truly special, for a cause held dear —
Hospice South, helping families year after year.

Through teamwork, hard work, and a whole lot of heart,
$30,000 was raised — what a magnificent start!
From the trialists and sponsors to volunteers too,
There’s a massive thank you to every one of you.

So here’s to the dogs, the handlers, the crew,
The cooks, the workers, and supporters true.
From the farm gates of Southland, we proudly say:
What a bloody ripper of a trial — you made the day!
