🐾 We have a new face joining the CareVets team! 🐾

We’re very excited to introduce you all to Dr Deanna, a new vet who joins us next week. ❤️

Deanna brings a lovely mix of enthusiasm and experience with her, having previously worked in veterinary clinics in both Wellington and Tauranga. We’re really looking forward to welcoming her to the team and to our local community.

And there’s something a little bit special about Deanna that we’re particularly excited about… 🐶🐱✨

She has her certificate in acupuncture for musculoskeletal conditions, like arthritis or other acutely painful conditions.🪡🐾

This is something new for our town, and we’re really looking forward to bringing animal acupuncture to CareVets and offering our patients another option as part of their care, where appropriate.

We’ve already enjoyed getting to know Deanna and are very excited for her to officially start next week. We think she’s going to be a wonderful addition to our team, and we’re sure our clients and their four-legged family members will enjoy getting to know her too! ❤️

So if you’re at the clinic over the coming weeks and see a new face, make sure you say hi to Deanna and give her a big local welcome. 🐾

Welcome to CareVets, Deanna, we can’t wait to have you on board! ❤️

🐦 Bird Flu: A reminder to stay vigilant

While bird flu (H5N1) has not been detected in Gisborne, it's important for all New Zealanders to know what to do if they come across a sick or dead wild bird.

If you see one:
❌ Don't touch or move it.
📞 Report it to MPI on 0800 80 99 66.
🐕 Keep pets, especially dogs, away from sick or dead birds.

If your pet has had contact with a sick or dead bird, please give your local CareVets clinic a call for advice before bringing them in.

Early reporting helps protect our native wildlife, livestock, pets and communities. Thank you for helping keep New Zealand safe. 💙
